Axles

I'm going to be running drag radials then slicks on my 04 PTGT. It's got solid Mounts and a Spec 4+ clutch. I've just ordered stage 3 suspension with Coil Overs. I'm concerned with the drag radials and eventually slicks. I'll be cracking some stock shafts. If I could get a recommendation on replacement axles, I'd appreciate it. SRT 4 isn't compatible with my 5 Speed trans. Thanks

Stock axles will not survive drag radials. If you're going to get slicks just skip the radials.

Most other respondents disagree JmalB. Do you have specific experience with a PT blowing up axles. I'm looking for a recommendation for a replacement. Something you could suggest please.

It's the wheel hop induced by a hard tire on launch that murder our axles - stock axles are quite resilient for holding up to power and launching on slicks.

Yeah and my axles survived a couple years of hard launches on the BFG DRs. When I switched to the M&H DRs they lasted maybe 6 launches or so. Then it was 5 out of 6 months I broke an axle. And I only go to the track once a month.

Now supposedly you can avoid all that by loading up the driveline before you launch. But that's not something I was comfortable trying.
