Nice video. Although don't really have to worry about going around people here. It is illegal to pass on the right, you can only pass to the left. Everyone here knows exactly which way you are going to go, which is left. And if you are in the third lane, people respect you and move out of your way. That is why I did another tour here. Love how the Germans respect the rules of the road and actually do them.

Black, I envy you for being able to go on the ring so much. You are kind of stuck on the belly pan. This you will have to make on you own. if you ok on here, a freind of mine BLAZIN, made one for his car. He used one big ass peice of aluminum to cover pretty much the entire bottom of the car, minus access point of course. On mine, I took the approach little different.
If you look at the bottom of the car, your will see that it looks like it is broken up into grids. On mine I made peices of aluminum for each section and installed them this way. The one thing I had on the first was the front splitter, and the rear diffuser. This way when I was making the templates for the panels, I made them to tie into these two peices. I made it this way so, if I need to do anything on the bottom of the car, I just take one panel off.
I will push the gear thing. I do know of a couple of companys that make trans options for this car. The only thing is, the cost of one of them is about as much as a new srt-8 challenger.
look up nascar cars aerodynamic.. they have some things added to cars that dont cuz drag but do add to down force..
too hard to explain but will help you..
these fins sticking up r suppose to keep air from coming up the door over the roof cuzing lift.. atleast thats what nascar said..
You know what those fins are for, they are for when and if the car starts sliding sideways, the air going ove these keep the can down on all 4's.
so just imagine a car sliding sideways, at about 160 plus, all that air hitting the car on it's side, and going under it, is going to make the car go up like it was going up a ramp sideways. These fins act like small spoilers to keep the car down.
For one I have to say that this is a huge friggin moron for trying this on a public highway, here is the states. To make it even worse, he gets pissed when someone gets in his lane, while he is going 3 time the speed limit.
And all this with traffic!!! All you guys always compaining about the cops picking on you, here is one of the reason.
Good luck with it man! Dont mind Blue and I. we both have very valid points. sometimes its just fun to debate a bit...even if it does get out of hand every now and again...
Agree 100%, both have points, two approaches to the same process. Good luck, lots of great stuff came up in the this thread.

So you had them bolted to the front splitter and rear diffuser. But where do they bolt in the middle? And what did you do about heat? I would think the engine and exhaust would start to heat up the floorboard like an oven. I can probably get the company that is making my roll cage to make me a belly pan also. He is very eager to get more americans to come to his place. So he is getting me a great deal on the cage and install. So I am sure he will do the same for the belly pan. Just have to make sure I understand what to really cover up and where to attach it to.

If I was at home, I would just take some pictures, and show you. I bolted the side pans on the rails on the bottom of the car. the one thing I did not do is cover up the exhaust. I left it open. I just made some straps that accross the exh.

I got what you are saying. Makes sense to me. Good stuff to take away from all this. I will get busy and start getting this underway.
unless you plan on a gt adjustable rear wing, i would ABSOLUTELY NOT remove the stock wing. It was wind tested to provide stability at speeds above 125-130. although, i would recommend an adjustable wing, especially for roadcourse needs, DO NOT remove the stock wing if you want to go that fast and live.
Drag racers, flame all you want, that wing wasnt made for straight line performance...
OP, i would start with a big turbo kit. ditch that e2. it wont get you where you want. secondly i would suggest some different cams. 14s with stock valvetrain wont reliably support rpms that high. probably full top end preferably with porting(why not while your in there) EMS to control everything safely and raise the rev limit.
I'm sure this could be done cheaply(DSP). but it wont last long...
All I can really say is good luck man. Most of the technical aspects of how to do it are covered. The only question left is where and why?
A6 is covered with traffic and construction unless you get out toward Sinsheim and Heilbronn. Even then the trucks are so bad I wouldn't get much over 120 unless its at night. A81 would be the prefferred stretch since thats where Porsche takes their cars to be tested once they leave the Stuttgart plant. But from K-town thats a bit far. A61 (or is A63) toward Premaseance (I know I butchered that) or Trier is way too curvey and hilly. A67 is full of traffic as well. So where are you looking at doing this that its going to be safe.
Every time I've taken mine above 140 (regardless of rim size) its felt very light. Where I'm at we have vast stretches of open road so I can go at it without worry but even the slightest turn makes my butthole pucker. Any slight variation in road height is enough to give you some cold sweats at those speeds.
Unless you plan on getting a full out Nascar cage... there's no cage you are going to build that will help you in a crash at 160+. It will however turn your head into a watermelon and make your existance end a lot quicker. 400 euro sounds like just enough to cover materials. I'd be weary of a guy wanting to get more business and doing so by cutting you price deals. Been here since 2003 and seen it time and time again.... Germans will give you what you pay for regardless of what they want in return. And since this is the first time I've seen you on here and never seen you post in the O/S section I'm assuming you don't hang out with the other SRTs from that area since you aren't in any of the recent pics from their Rammstein meets. Which makes me wonder how much business you'll be bringing to this guy for him to cut you a super deal.
Either way.... good luck man. Keep it shiney side up and post some in the O/S section.

Yea I haven't been or really know anybody well enough to know where everyone hangs out. I have heard of an SRT-4/Neon club in Germany but don't know how to get into it or even if there is a website. I have been deployed 3 times since I have been here. So hard to meet people and all that. To answer your question though! I like A67 going towards Frankfurt on Saturday or Sunday morning. You know what I am talking about. The three lanes that go for a couple of miles in a straight line. I tune my car down that road in the mornings. If you do it on Sunday morning; there is no traffic due to people not working. About the roll cage! I was recommended by another German (a guy who owns a 600hp Porsche with this companies cage) to talk to this person because he does roll cages for people going to the Ring or Bitburg to race. He wants more Americans to come so he can start producing cages for American cars. He needs dimensions and all that stuff, so he says.
