Default $40 downpipes - Pics

From what I understand, 2ng gen N/A cat pipes are the same dimensions as the SRT down pipe (including the flange) so these will fit.

I've installed an ATP on my car and have the stock DP in the garage. I've ordered one of these for my ACR and when when it gets here I'll compare it to the SRT downpipe.

If it is a match it'd be awesome! Fucking cheap....

No flex joint though

The lack of a flex joint would keep me from doing it...

Of course, if you can weld in a flex joint on your own, that still makes it a sub-$100 downpipe.

Im pretty sure the 2nd gen NA neons had 2" exhaust piping. I could be mistaken, but i dont think this downpipe will bolt right up to the stock exhaust.

Just got it... came in 4 days.

* 2.75 inch in @ the flange
* Narrows down to 2.5 inch pipe & resonator
* Narrows down again at the very end to 2.00 inches
* Has bung for the downstream o2 sensor.

It'll bolt up to the O2 housing fine.

It'd make a great welfare exhaust!

awesome. i doubt i am going to need a full 3" downpipe with just stage one and an intake so this will (hopefully) work out great for me. please let us know how well it lines up with the rest of the exhaust (looks like it points a little sideways to me but i could be wrong).
now to find someone who upgraded their turbo and get their o2 housing and exhaust manifold to port.

I will be installing it on a neon, not the SRT - I just happened to find out that it is (pretty much) the same as the SRT downpipe.

It may look a little bit off in the pics, but I'm sure it'll line up fine. The pipe coming out of the stock cat was added by a muffler shop around the corner and has a couple of weird bends in it.

gotcha.

how are the welds on it? does it seem to be good quality? and finally, do you remember the ebay seller?
i want to get one and put a flex section on it (i hear everyone saying it will break if it doesn't have a section of flex pipe) and put a 2.5" cat on it.

once again, thanks for your help towards the extremely affordable mods.

Welds look quality to me - like a stack of nickles on it's side.

The seller was g4parts.

You will need a flex joint.

Look at what happended to the Buscher system that was made without one......where did it break............right where the flex would have been.

MP is putting a ball joint AND flex in their system because of all the movement.

Rember where that joint is located, between you and the engine.....not a place you want leaks and cracks to develop.

You sure this will work, because I am going to buy one this afternoon if it does. This will work great for what I want it for! What about the heat from the turbo compared to the heat from a NA motor, will i have to worry about melting it or what not.
