Just wondering because there isnt a whole lot of talk here about nationals. The other forum that was suppose to be designated for the nationals event seems to be a huge orgy of OneLap information and hardly anything discussed about nationals. The last post made to have nationals information in it for the host hotel was posted back on 04-13-2007, but never was updated with the information for the actual host hotel.
I just remember in previous years events there were always lots of talk about everything that was going to go on, people calling out one another at the dragstrip, where they were going to go, etc. I guess the information of OneLap being on a SRT Nationals forum is misleading or people just dont care for this event upcoming in July. I have been to them all and I must say this isnt looking great so far.... I could be wrong, but its as if nobody cares for this years event from the lack of participation on the forums.... anyone else agree?
Yeah I was kinda wondering the same thing. Also when am I going to be refunded for the money I paid for the awards banquet that is not going to happens since the change of venue?

It’s MY LIFE — what you think of me is none of my business
Planning and growth continue, unfortunately the SRT-4 owners seem to have decided, for the most part, to not attend.
The Onelap stuff is there because the organizers of the At The Track event (it's not the SRT Nationals anymore, that died in Topeka) all attended Onelap and worked pretty hard on the videos that were produced. The intent was to draw some extra attention to the At The Track forums, which worked out pretty well. Pretty soon the Onelap info will be moved to the bottom of the page and combined into a single forum, but right now, the Memphis event is our number one priority.
vschoas, I too wonder what happened to the SRT-4 owners, but from just a quick scan of SRTforums, it's pretty easy to see that they are not the same group of people that was around when the event was in New Orleans. We saw the trend beginning last year, before the 2006 event, which is why we chose to not depend on the SRT-4 owners to make the event successful. We got a lot of grief over that, but looking at it now, it was obviously the right decision. For the most part, the SRT-4 owners just aren't into the enthusiast events anymore, gas prices are high and motivation is low...
srtowner, If it's really important to you to receive your banquet money back, I can make that happen for you tonight. Of course, I don't want to hear any crying about it from you when everyone else is eating and you're ordering take-out pizza. The change from Topeka to Memphis isn't easy, it's not complete, and it's costing us a whole lot more than what you've got invested. That's not a slam, it's just a statement to help you understand that we're doing what we can to make sure that you have as good a time as possible.
Feel free to post on the forums over there, they are for you to ask questions like these. I wouldn't expect it to become a community, like we have here, on LXforums, the VCA forums, the SDAC forums, and all the other communities, it will probably always be just an informational forum and a place for spammers to practice their arts....
See all y'all in Memphis,
Dale

See all y'all in Memphis,

Well Dale the last thing you said is there was no longer going to be an awards banquet. The awards were just going to be passed out at the track Nopi style. Meaning my banquet money should be refunded as you have said on several occasions it would be, well still waiting on it.
Ok you say the SRT-4 owners are not supporting this event like some years past. Well we are also being left in the dark about everything. You are not even refering to it as Mopars At The Track anymore. I'm about to the point of just requesting a refund for the entire amount. It's only $60 or so since I was not going to race any. I mean with the lack of information and none of us being updated with whats going on. And then the whole thing is just turned into your event "The One Lap" I'm just not to sure I even want to go. I'd like to see some of the Vipers that are supposed to be there though.

What do you want to know that you don't? I think that everything that is known is on the event site. It is Mopars at the Track. Dale was just shortening it when talking about it, in the same way that everyone says "Nats" instead of "The 2006 SRT Nationals."
The Cannonball One Lap of America is a whole separate annual event that several people here participated in, so the team posted info and videos on the MATT forums. It was placed at the top of the forums list for a while to make it easy to find for the many non-Mopar visitors who were looking for the information during the event.

My point is there is nothing being talked about as far a MATT goes. Even if you go to the forum the newest info is 2-5 months old. All you see talked about on that forum is track rat stuff, nothing about the Mopar event. Nothing has been posted on here either. Hell are we even still having the event???? It would help with attendance if yall actual talked about it and promoted it. To me it just looks like yall don't care if anybody fro mthe SRT-4 crowd shows up at all. Promotion is a big key to attendance.
It is being promoted, in a lot of places in addition to here.
We have to face the fact that the 2006 SRT Nationals was promoted to death (literally ) here, and about 1/10 of one percent of the members here attended.
I know, here come the cries of, "It should have been held in _____, and then 50,000 SRT4s would have shown up!" The thing is, we're trying to build a multi-faceted, multi-model event that is primarily a track event, and not just a big car show or a little drag racing. There aren't many other (any other?) events where you can drive on the road course, autocross, and drag race.

These forums are no longer the base location for everything matt orentated.
the info is out there....you expect it to be spoon fed?

Well it would be fucking nice if the updated info was actualy on the event forum. I am registered in the event forum. I check it regularly and the newest info is 3 or 4 months old.
Maybe have it on the west coast where the highest srt4 population is? Just a thought. If you want people to attend dont expect them to drive all the way across the nation for a 2 day event. Just my .02.
