How many of our country's problems could be solved – and solved quickly – if politicians were more worried about what is good for our country rather than how to protect their positions of power?
Not Topeka, but these guys do a lot of driving anyway....
WildHorsesRacing in Charlotte, NC he is the director of NASA-SE and just bought a portable dyno
.
Doug,
When you speak to them, let them know that they only have to be on-site on Friday and Saturday, but can be onsite Thursday if they want to.
They need to provide their own insurance, they'll know what is needed, for the track management to look over.
They will be paid directly by the participants, and can keep 100% of the money they collect. We see the dyno as a service to the event, and don't feel they should have to pay us to be there.
Thanks a bunch, I know we can count on you to get them out there.

I'm sure there's got to be one in Kansas City & it's only about an hour away. Maybe that's an option?

Hopefully this isn't getting offensive, is somewhat funny, and is pointing out that if we want a dyno at the event, somebody is going to have to make contact with a dyno operator. The organizing committee would like to have a dyno there, but it is not essential to getting the event set up.
If somebody *wants* to have a dyno there, they need to make the contact.
Damn you Dale... I wasn't really trying to get involved. I'm trying to finalize the plans for our quarterly meet here in Colorado & now you pull a smoothie on me. I'll see what I can come up with
Here's the message I sent to the following Mobile Dyno Companies. Suprisingly, there aren't as many around as I thought there would be? I picked these 3 as they seemed to be the most popular ones with a dynojet (there are a few portable mustang dyno's but people tend not to like them as much)?
Dyno-Go: <-- Currently scheduled for HIN New York on July 21st & 22nd (they do all the Nopi & HIN events) VMPtuning: Delray Beach, FL (Declined due to distance) Pro-Dyno: Fort Mill, SC Tracklab: St Louis, Mo

Hello, I'm contacting you on behalf of the planning committee for the Modern Mopar Nationals. We are looking for a mobile dyno service that would be available to travel to Heartland Park Raceway in Topeka Kansas on July 20th & 21st 2007.
Here's a link to the 4th Annual Modern Mopar Nationals Event Site (formerly SRT Nationals) taking place this July 18th thru the 21st. There's tons of information & pictures giving you a run down of the event & activities planned on the website.
You'll only have to be on-site on Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st, but can be onsite Thursday the 19th if you want to be as well.
You'll need to provide your own insurance for the track management to look over.
You will be paid directly by the participants, and can keep 100% of the money you collect. We see the dyno as a service to the event, and don't feel you should have to pay us to be there.
Please take a look at the website & get back to me with any questions. Thanks
John Ruckman
I included what I wrote just in case anyone else wants to steal what I stole from Dale to inquire to some other companies.
So far this is all I've received back & price-wise it looks like they want to be paid to be there & keep the money from the dyno sessions.

I will see if any of my sponsors are interested in your demographics. This is a sales tool and the drivers won't pay the actual cost of the unit being on site. But then again, rock and roll bands don't work for tips anymore either. Yes the dyno challenge is a show enhancement as Hot Rod Magazine, Ford and International Diesel have found.
We can test slammed race cars to dually crew cab pickups to 1600hp. For video, please see www.tracklab.biz , the Mobil 1 Racing video from the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour 2006.
Our charges are $1500 per day plus trucking to your site. Best guess as to actual costs for the two days would be $5000. We can test 25 to 30 units per day. We draw a crowd as soon as we turn on the noise. Then its up to the sponsor to walk and talk and close their customers. Our insurance has been good for Bill Griffen before.
We are available for those days. Will you be using the road course or drag strip?
Thank you for looking into this. But with what has been said, I don't think there will be a dyno at the event this year. They want their cake and eat it too. Maybe next year.

I will be talking to the guy who runs NASA SE next weekend (racing at Rd ATL) and he has his own portable dyno (as mentioned above) to see what his interest would be in Topeka.
