Default Autocross "Expert" needed

The SRT/ Modern Mopar Nationals is hosting a two day autocross during the 2007 event.

While it is true that we still need onsite volunteers to help run the event, right now what we really need is someone who is familiar with the SCCA Solo2 classing system to help us organize the registration of participants.

What the heck does that mean?

We need a listing of classes that Mopar vehicles would compete in at an SCCA autocross. Not just the Neons, not just the Vipers, but all of the vehicles, including the Jeeps.

It would be easiest for the registrant (in my opinion) if we had a breif description of what Stock, Street Prepared, Street Modified, Prepared, and Modified allowed for modifications. Then a list of what classes each car is eligible for should follow. That list would become the users 'drop down menu' choice during registration.

For example, assuming the Stock, Street Modified, etc descriptions were done, and I have a 2004 SRT-4 Neon, I would look to the Neon section of the dropdown menu and choose the subcatagory (class) of either D-Stock, C-Street Prepared, Street Modified, or E-Prepared, or A-Modified.

Of course, I just made up those classes...

If you want to take on this task, please let me know. If completed in a satisfactory manner, it will count as your Volunteering for the event and you will not be required to actually work at the event.

Please let me know by emailing me at Volunteer("at" sign)srtnationals(dot)org

Thanks in advance,
Dale

I was trying to find something like this for a couple days, I swear I seen it on the chicago site but this would be great to turn into a questioner type page on the nationals sign up site.

The one on the CSC site is the same one. Someone over there quoted me from here when I posted it in the NW section. Great tool for figuring out where you belong. Bottom line is if your stage 3 you have to run in the top class. My car is a much better driver then I will ever be.

Ya Bill is insane man!! I really do think he could have won in a 65 vw bug if you gave him a chance.

Dude after looking at that go bye i don't think many people can be in the stu class. New intercooler, bored t-body, changed boost levels, changed intake or injectors, cams or valves, any replaced body panels, removed rear seat, changed hood all of those things kick you out of stu and into sm.

How many of our country's problems could be solved – and solved quickly – if politicians were more worried about what is good for our country rather than how to protect their positions of power?

I expect that everyone with a compaint about how the autox was handled last year will be signing up to help make it better.

The person who was responible for that part of the event was not able to attend because he needed to be at his mothers funeral. We scrambled to not cancel the autocross and disappoint you, and hired two people familiar with the timing equipment to help us out, with timing.

I recruited tech volunteers to perfrom safety checks on the cars, and expected that participants would be able either help each other with classing or just be happy that there was an event for them to attend.

Be part of the solution, rather than part of the problem.

Use the "Volunteer" link from the SRTnationals.org website to provide support for this part of the event.

Regards,
Dale

I don't think anyone is complaining at all. I think everyone is just having a good time bull shitting and talking about the event. I was very happy that the autox event happened, Nat's would not have been the same without it.

Ha ha ha "The Wing" LMFAO I should have been in SM but i didn't know the classes at that time or what made the difference and niether did anyone else. I was told street tires put you in STU and race rubber put you in SM. But that is what happeneds from events like this.... we all learn and get more involved in our cars, and what class's they should run.

For all us autox newbies, I think "SM" stood for "sado-masochist." I beat on the car, and took a beating with my times.
