Assuming there is nobody else foolish enough to organize the 2010 event, I've started laying out the plans for the 2010 event.
A little history for those who are new to the event....
The SRT-4 Nationals was held for two years at a roadcourse near Houma La, whose name escapes me at the moment, which detracts somewhat from the effectiveness of the history lesson. But that's No Problem, we'll continue to the third event, held at Heartland Park, Topeka, Kansas.
The fourth event, a disaster of epic proportions, even without the tornado we survived in Kansas, was held at Memphis Motorsports Park, in Tennessee.
The fifth event was the first to take place at multiple venues, Talladega Grand Prix Raceway, Atlanta Dragway, Atlanta Motor Speedway, and various Waffle Houses around the Atlanta area.
Event #6, the 2009 SRT Nationals was a very small affair, held in peoples driveways and on racetracks across the country, with many participants having no idea they were even part of the show.
For 2010, we'll build on the One Lap of Atlanta theme.
Roadcourse - Road Atlanta (roadatlanta.com)
Autocross - Turner Field (Home of the Atlanta Braves)
Dragracing - Atlanta Dragway
Kart Racing - MGKT in Dublin, Ga (MiddleGeorgiaKartTrack.net)
Schedule:
Thursday - Possible Kart Racing and Time Trials
Friday - Drag Racing
Saturday - Road Atlanta
Sunday - Autocross
Monday - Most likely the Kart Racing and Time Trialing day
Cost:
No idea yet, it won't be free, probably won't be nearly free either.
Dates:
Yes, you can bring a date.

You know I love the Captain! 1997, the first hard motor mount and over-bored throttle body was in the Onelap car. Also had the SOHC head (overnighted to the shop and installed the day before Onelap started!) and the first CNNP intake, that crushed the performance of the much better marketed to Mopar Iceman.
Those were the days of Twingles and Ari Jay Comet, real enthusiast heroes.
Timing of the Twenty-Ten SRT Nationals is going to be tricky. Getting Road Atlanta for a reasonable cost under somebody elses insurance policy is going to be the decision maker for the date.
2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4

158,000+ miles (still on original motor)

Hey, is that car where this connecting rod came from?
