Apparently , There are only about one hundred or so
SRT4 owners out of some 29,xxx owners that actually
like to go places and do things ! Hard to believe that
so many people are broke and paranoid !

i missed one.....that was the 2nd year due to $$. Im a neon owner and i drove my happy ass over a year ago to kansas, drove to memphis a month after i went to the midwest event out in ohio with dansrt4 and if you guys get something going i'll attend that aswell time/$$ permitting. Alot of you dont know this but up until the neon ceased production there was a yearly pilgrimage of neon owners out to Belvidere IL for the "Neon xxxx" event the last being Neon 2005. It was the biggest gathering of neons in the country that no SRT nationals has matched period. cmon guys get off your fucking high horses and do something....im not talking bout the guys trying to get the ball rolling im talking about all you lazy fucks that think everything is going to come to you. I live in FL....if i could get everyone to come here i'd do it myself but thats way too much of a hike for everyone in and out of this country

The way I see it is: SRT4's = Young Guns = No Shows
I drove half way across the country to Kansas and was quite surprised with the old school crowd (SRT's) that was there. In my opinion, the only way to make it work is to team it up with an old school event.
The good thing is, we are talking about it.

The way see it is the majority of srt owners are crying about someone not loseing money out of their pocket this year.
I helped organize the event last year and I didn't even get that far into it, I feel bad for eric, and dale managing the event and their daily lifes. If you were a part of a organizing body for any major event over a couple days long it would be your full time job for about half of the year.
The people in chicago are the same way, there just is a core group of people that choose to hang out no matter what. Some of them have droped off but picture this on a much larger scale...get the idea.
ps pt01 how are you 06 nats champ? I think its drag racing only you won, I won auto-x in my class and there was no posted times for the road course. I don't see a true "nationals champ" anywere.

Everyone knows I won the road course event (and S3R)! (pro's don't count).

I think he won the 4-cyl bracket race on Saturday? In heads-up racing on Friday, Rob Pachner took first in 4-cyl slicks with an '83 Shelby Charger, and Justin Bondurant took first in 4-cyl street tire with an SRT4. The top three 4-cyl slicks heads-up finishers were 80s turbo Mopars, all running high 10s to low 11s.

I rember he won bracket because I red lighted one and I was pissed (put also pleased because that was my quickest time)
I always see the east & west coast people pipe up about "if this" or "if that". How about you guys stop talking about how sweet you can make it & finally just do it. I mean this in the most sincere possible way. If you build it, I will come with a crew from colorado... to either coast... we don't care where just that it happens.
I am part of an Avenger/Sebring club....we've been having our National Meet for the last few years in Naperville, IL. Even though our platform is getting older, we still have a good turn out. We base our event for a Fri-Sat-Sun weekend. Friday we gather at the hotel, hang out, BS, drink/eat, and have fun. Saturday we have a Show-n-Shine at the local Preserve where we grill out, chill out, and do our Awards. About 45-60 miles away is a Drag track that has test/tune weekend, so interested people can go and drag for a small fee. Sunday is the Mo-Power Mopar Car Show in Naperville where our club goes and represents. The last few years we've had our "Show" in conjunction with the Stratusphere (Dodge Stratus) and Intrepid Car Clubs which increases the total number of participants as well as the overall enjoyment of the weekend--its nice to have some diversity.
It doesn't cost us much, besides the $$ to drive to Illinois and the $$ for the motel/food. We all pitch in $10 bucks for the awards and the cost of renting the Preserve. We often go out dining as a large group, or to the Strip Club, or Go-Karting, but the best times are had just hanging out in the parking lot of the hotel--drinking and bench racing and just enjoying the company of our car club (putting faces with screen names).
Our Club also enjoys doing a large meet at the July Carlisle Mopar show. Just something to think about...as you don't necessarily have to spend the big bucks to have a great National Meet.

. . . ps pt01 how are you 06 nats champ? I think its drag racing only you won, I won auto-x in my class and there was no posted times for the road course. I don't see a true "nationals champ" anywere.
That is correct . . . Drag Racing. The final event I believe was Saturday and that was an open bracket event for all makes that attended. I ran an old school guy in the finals and won the overall event. Maybe I should change it to 2006 Nationals Class Champ as I'm not aware of a "true nationals champ". A "true nationals champ" or overall winner would have to be determined by compilation of points across all events. I'm sure there was an overall winner Auto-X among the classes as well as an overall winner in show. I don't think there was any timing on the road course, but there was also a first place winner in the burnout contest.
