The central hub for this will be in Atlanta Georgia. However, the events will take place in Atlanta, Commerce, and Talladega Alabama
Dates:
July 11th: Drag racing at Commerce.
July 12th: Road Course at Little Talladega Grand Prix and Auto X at ATL Motor Speed Way
Specifics on the Drag Portion:
Where: ATL Dragway in Commerce GA.
When: Friday July 11th, 2008. Gates open at 5:00 pm. and runs to 11:30pm. Tech-in ends at 9:00 IIRC.
Cost: $25 to race. $10 to spectate
This is basically just a test and tune night for before the road course event on Saturday, we will not have the track to ourselves because renting it out will be too expensive and commitment minimal. I Plan to be there at gate opening and will have an area for us picked out. Please try to get there at 5:00pm. Just look for the Red SRT-4 With Black Commemorative Edition stripes.
At the moment we will not have any special Privileges, or anything due to cost factor. However, should there be enough interest I may be able to work something out with the track so we at least have our own lane or something. But that will add to the total cost of the event.
So, if anything at the moment it will be a time for us to hang out and race each other.
Specifics on Road Course
When: July 12th.
Where: Little Talladega Grand Prix
Time: Need to be at the track no later than 8:00 after 8:00 you will not be permitted in.
Cost: $240
I will need verbal commitment and monetary commitment. PM me for my Paypal address. If at the end of the 2 week period I do not have all the funding available I will refund everyones money. Once I have everyones money I will cut the check for the track. After that, there are no refunds. If you suddenly cant make it, it is up to YOU and YOU alone to either sell your spot to someone else on the forums, or eat the cost. I take no responsibility for your money after I have already paid the track.
We will have the track to ourselves. There will be no ambulance, or spotters on the track. So Experience Drivers are preferred. However, a few novices are ok. The racing will be limited to 3 people on the track at one time. There will be no aggressive passing allowed. And you MUST have a helmet. There will not be any timed laps. There is also no insurance on this to keep cost down. That being said. You race at your own risk.
There will be a 1hour break for lunch during which we can grill out. I will bring a grill with me, and supply the hotdogs and hamburgers, condiments, and paper plates. Please bring your own sides and drinks.
Specifics on Auto X
When: July 12th
Where: Road Atlanta

Cost: Unknown

If you would, please pencil me in for the road course event...
EDIT: I believe the AutoX is actually at Atlanta Motor Speedway...It's being run in conjunction with the local SCCA event. Don't quote me on it, but the cost is $40(I think), and you will be expected to perform work assignments at the event.
Called the track today... They are out until monday . I left them a message though despite that. So at best I may hear from them tomorrow. But from the looks of things it wont be till Monday when I get an answer on pricing.
Based off my memory from researching this originally, the cost per person is going to be $290 roughly. It would have been cheaper, but I think Prices increased since the original list. So worst case scenario, it will cost that much. However, I will have a more Direct Answer on Monday, Tuesday the latest.

Hang in there guys.
Also get a price for Friday.....it should be around 175.00 per car Monday-Friday. Saturday and Sunday is considerably higher.
Doug, where is the best spot to get blow by blow info on OLA, what's really going on? Is there really an SRT8 Challenger running and is Erich driving it?

Dont worry, I'm gonna see what i can do to get the price lowered. However, Friday might be a no go. At least for me because there is NO way i'll be able to get off from work since i just started my new job 2 months ago.
