Default 2008 Nats - Save the roadcourse???

Ok... sounds like the road course portion is being closed out from the 08 nats. Now, me personally... I wouldn't think it's worth it unless that event is available.

$1750 to make it available. 10 @ $175 or less w/ more.

Can we get at least 10 people to commit $175???

For you w/ sponsorships, etc... perhaps you can have them pay?

We need ten to commit verbally AND monetarily or this won't happen.

3 cars on the course at a time ,and you best know what you're doing is the general idea. (lol)

Anyone?

I know I would pledge to pay $175 now even if I wasn't 100% I could go.

Anyone else?

Would noobs be welcome, or are you looking for more of an experienced road course group....I've never been on a road course, and only done 4-5 autoX's, but I've been wanting to try a road course for fun. But at the same time, I don't want to ruin it for others...

I'm in....once we get 10 verbals, then we need to collect and reserve the track.

Have you "talked" to the track about the date? Still available?

I talked to dale, and as of right now it's still available, but the deposit is the full amount.

As far as noobs... I would encourage anyone to try it normally, but in the past we've had professional drivers, etc. to assist around the course. It doesn't sound like we'd have that ability. Unless some of the more experienced drivers would be willing to ride along when it's not their turn, I would say no.

But I would think there would be guys to step up and help out.

So that's about as wishy-washy as an answer I could come up with.

That does make it nervous w/ the insurance, etc.

Fair enough. If it comes down to needing one more, and you all won't mind a noob, let me know....with enough time for me save the funds instead of spending it on other crap.

I hear ya. I'm noobish, but I've done it enough times where I'm more than comfortable.

Maybe you ought to hit one before this?

That is a great idea.....anyone who wants to attend a track day before the Nationals in July, PM me and I can help you find a suitable training ground prior to the event.

Most HPDE-1 (High Performance Drivers Education) events provide qualified instructors and usually cost from $200-$400 for a whole weekend (cost depends on the track and the organization).

I've already been in contact with a guy that does a "driving school" at TGPR, I just don't know when his next event is going to be...
