This is one post I wish I would never have to make, but I do. With each passing day the event gets closer and closer. Yet there are postings and talk about saying you will be there. There is one thing missing... YOU registering for the event. I'll be short and to the point.
People are registering for attending for this year?s event, but these numbers just don't cut it. A line has been drawn and if the numbers don't pick up, we will have to cancel the 2007 Nationals event. April 1st, is the day we say yes there will be, or no there will not be. This is no joke, and we are serious about this. So if you want to make this event continue, it?s now in your hands. We have done our part, and we and those that have already signed up are counting on you to join us

How many of our country's problems could be solved – and solved quickly – if politicians were more worried about what is good for our country rather than how to protect their positions of power?
This one is supposed to better than last year and it might be canxed?!
It is better for what we have planned over last years event. But if no one goes they won't know. Each year it has been better then the year before. Ask those that have attended the events from the start. If no one wants to attend the event, we have to cancel what we have planed for this year.
2006 saw a 400% improvement in attendance over the 2005 event. We have already cut cost in the event by eliminating pure waste while at the same time significantly improving the event. A big part of that is the six person team working on the event to make it better than last year.
We are currently at 30% (plus or minus a couple entries) of where we were last year at this time. I am assuming that people are waiting until the last minute to sign up, but that presents a problem...
The rent and insurance for the event went up 25% (plus or minus a couple percent) suddenly.
We are not going to raise the entry fees to make this happen, and the organizing team is not going to take out second mortgages on their homes to make this happen.
That means, it is time for people to vote with their wallet as well as their keyboard. Sign up for the event.
The SRToc (owners club) died because of a lack of leadership. This event has leadership (better leadership now that I'm not making the decisions ), but without membership, will also die. If it dies this year, it is unlikely it will ever come back, it certainly won't come back with support from Mopar, SRT, or Kicker. Don't let it die.
Regards,
Dale

Everyone counts... It's not a matter of an absolute number, it's that show of interest that will bring the event sponsors. Right now, there is no justification for a company to drop $10K on an event that isn't showing growth.
To put it into perspective, the rent and insurance alone for the three days is more than the average person in America earns in a year.
Is there support from mopar again that would allow the sending of cards asking for registration? Or a mention in mopar magazine about registering? How many are currently registered?

Currently, Mopar is not impressed and is considering pulling their participation. That would mean losing the displays and raffle items.
We had a cool display lined up for this year too, includes the new Challenger SRT-8. Hopefully that won't all go away.

We have less than 100 entries to date...
Personally the raffle items and mopar displays are secondary to the racing and general socialization. Having some of the new product is great, but I'm not certain how necessary the srt hauler was last year. The sponsors/vendors had more than enough to look at. I wonder if they would consider just the print advertising, and maybe get w/ Gina @ Dodge Motorsports and see if she's got anything for us!
Maybe a combined effort??
Come on people i have gone the last 2 years and it keeps getting better each time, not only the world class track and strip, that you will have a chance to play on, to the vast amount of people from all over the country that share the same passion as you.
I can honestly say i have not meet a better group of people that where willing to give you the shirts off there backs if need be. And the amount of knowledge gained from just talking to everyone.
This would have to rank up there with one of if not the best times i have had. You wont regreat it so please sign up and register, dont let this great time and event get cancelled, it would be the biggest let down ever.
By the way yes i was dragging my feet but i am signing up in a few minutes.
