Hey James,
Can you get me prices for both of those parts and shipping to 48310. Thanks! 5183442AA - wiring harness repair kit 05073045AB - Multifunction switch This is the second time in 50,000 miles the MFS has failed on my car. First time the dealer replace it under warranty, and 2 days ago the connector pretty much melted in the MFS. Have you heard of any TSB's regarding this issue? Thanks and Happy New Year, Kris |

Thanks and Happy New Year, Kris 5073045AB multifunction switch $44.53 If gray 20-way Multi-Function Switch connector is also damaged and requiresreplacement, wiring kit 05183442AA is available, without replacing the entire wiring harness 05183442AA multifunction switch connector repari kit $42.52 No TSB's... no recalls, and I haven't checked yet, but I don't believe there is a star online case. The only help is that they give us a connector part number when ordering the switch.. as the connector is shown as nonavailable when checked through normal channels.

Thank you guys, I got it today!!!
Now I've been looking at wiring diagrams and I'm going to add in relays to the high and low beam circuits to make it more reliable and to prevent this from happening again. I don't have a 03 wiring diagram, but in the 04 service manual they clearly show that there should be a high beam relay and a low beam relay installed in the fusebox. This must have been a changeover from 03-04, and that would explain why no one with an 04+ car is having this issue. What puzzles me is that I checked a local 04(built 3/04) and and he also didn't have relays Would you mind checking your 05 acr to see if it has 2 relays installed in the fusebox on the drivers side. They are at the bottom of the fusebox. This diagram of the fusebox is upside down: Last edited by krispl; 01-09-2007 at 01:15 PM. |

Wow, dead bump =].
My cousin has a 2001 ACR that the lows appear to have gone out on, but the high beams still work. I'm thinking it's the same problem here, seen lots of people reporting it. What's the price for both the repair kit and the switch? $87?

subscribed and probably ordering in the next few days. If i pop that steering colom cover off will i be able to tell that one or the other is melted or is it just common practice to replace both at the same time?
-My headlights only work on lhigh beam, no fog lights, gauge interior lights like gauge cluster are intermitten. Sound like the MFS?

if the wiring is melted or abnormal in any way, do both. IF the wiring is fine, just mfs for sure.
