If not, can someone refer me to some supercharging units?
I'm considering making a high performance sedan, and I'm unsure which I want. I know supercharging can provide instaneous power, which is nice, but Turbo does have its advantages. Maybe supercharging as I'm not building a 200mph+ car lol.
For a V8, and such a powerful one, I'd personally go w/ a supercharger kit. Magnums are heavy cars, hard to get that much weight moving. Superchargers kick in at low rpms, get that beast moving quicker! Also, V8's generally have lower redlines, when most turbos don't spool to max efficiency until higher rpms.
twin turbo with small dual ball bearing turbos... u can have full spoll before 3000 rpms almost instant boost when hit gas.. and can easily add up to 200HP to a V8

Just a thought! Jay
As a Grand National owner I'll have to call you on this on. My motor rarely sees 5000 rpms and it reaches max boost waaay before then! And my car is about 3700 lbs. I wouldn't be the first turbo Buick guy to say my car feels stronger in 2nd gear than in 1st, either. Don't forget about turbo diesel big rigs. How much do they weigh? And their red line is something like 3300-3500 rpms. Turbos LOVE load. Not only that but since boost is not proportional to rpms as with a supercharger, I can launch my car with 10 lbs of boost against the brakes at the line. With slicks on a 98% stock GN I have regularly run 1.6 60ft times and one night even hit a 1.56 60 ft twice.
Trucks are not cars. You cant prove a car kit by pointing out a truck kit.
KRCS kit, to my knowledge, is not complete quite yet, what we do know
6K
Gotta cut the car to fit tubes
Gotta give them your car to "build the kit into your car" No kits sold for offsite install
No programmed fuel, using standalone fuel solution
Right, you have to do it there. You cannot buy the setup and have it done elsewhere, was my point. The report of them not having that pictured car running yet is about two weeks old, I think, maybe its been finished since then. Maybe not.
Yeah, i can sense that somehow...it's really not about being the first, it's about being the fastest ...
I am not to far from them, and shipping the car to them is around $500-$700...I would rather them do the install and tune anyway...I could do the install myself, but no way to tune obviously. Marty told me he can tune the PCM in 2 weeks or less....I found this really hard to believe myself, but that is what he said...
You are right, it is pricey...I put $1500.00 depoosit down and remander is due at time of delivery...about another 9k.
