I took my Magnum to the track for the first time tonight.
Either I have a pooch or the ones in the magazines are special.
I could not get this car to launch worth a damn! It does much better on the street.
I tried everyway I could think off ESP on, off. Brake Torque, not brake torquing.
The best I could do was 13.75 and 102mph.
There was a stiff 15 to 18 mph headwind and I'm really not sure how much that would effect the ET.
If I could get it to launch I believe it would go low 13's
It's just so damn sticky with all that rubber on the track!
Maybe when I go to the track event the instructers might have some secret I don't know about.
The temp was about 70 and I had less than 1/4 tank of gas.
1100 mi on the car.

Your not all that far off. These were the first 2 passes ever on our Magnum SRT-8 and there is more in it. I think the trick is to leave at idle-1000 rpm and squeeze the throttle if its slick. Also HEAT THE TIRES. That helps. I didnt these passes but a buddy with an identical stock Magnum heated his and ran a 1.9x 60' last night.
First pass with the vehicle: 75* and humid
60' 2.03
330 5.722
1/8 8.678
MPH 82.91
1000 11.24
1/4 13.405
MPH 105.02
2nd pass: 70* and dew on the roof (humid)
60' 2.00
330 5.67
1/8 8.61
MPH 83.25
1000 11.17
1/4 13.319
MPH 105.18
Take it back and try different launch techniques.
