Default wow. I thought I broke the shift selector but...

I shattered the input shaft!! sheered it off right in half. I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked at it. I've never seen ANY car break that part of the trans ever. Since no-one makes a aftermarket peice, Im going with a stock input shaft. I am having the trans rebuilt anyway with all new synro's and whatever else it needs. I am still in shock though. I hope it will be ready to cecil friday night though.

Input shafts breaking are fairly common on these cars, even the guys that are still stock can do it. I broke mine in pieces in 2 different spots when it went, doing a WOT shift from 3-4, anyone making good power should know that or at least will learn just how fragile certain parts of the tranny really are! Expensive lesson to learn! now looking at the WOT shift box to try to prevent that from happening again!

"The Cobalt firmly grabs you and whisks you along your way instantly. It does so with authority and poise, but while slipping relatively unnoticed through traffic, never being violent, or dare I say it, frightening. When you ask the SRT-4 to take you somewhere fast, it punches you in the face, throws you over its shoulder, and runs, screaming, so quickly that its tires can barely keep up."
