Ok guys i need a poll on who would be interested in buying and using a built tranny. 9054 forged treated gears, shafts, etc.?
Don't know on a price yet but i would say in the 2k range?
I have a built Honda drag car which makes 900hp. Car has went through some testing this year, so far i have ran 9.7@150 with mid boost. My title sponsor is TeamMfactory which makes transmission parts for Honda/Acura and Subaru so far. They specialize in road race, ralley, NASA, Time attack, Drag racing of course.
I have ran there billet fd and 1st and 3/4 gears. No problems with gear failure yet! Synchro issues but thats my problem, 100 plus passes at full throttle shifting eats the meat of of them. lol
Anyways i talked to the president and mentioned our issues with the input shaft and gears. He wants to help, but there has gotta be a demand for these to get them engineered and made.
Also i want gear ratios? Do you like the ratios right now? Is it good for drag racing? If you want a shorter 1st longer etc. Let me know. I wanna see more 9 second srt-4s with manuals out there!!
Like i say im just getting a demand to see what we can make of this for the future!
i think the perfect street tranny would have 35 mph increments for each gear.
1-35
2-70
3-105
4-140
5-175
These numbers are at 6k RPM with room to overrev for those of us running higher redline than stock. But ya, of course we'd be interested in a built tranny, who wouldn't for the right price?
it really depends. it's hard to say I'd be willing to pay a specific price for something before I even know what it will be capable of in reality. I would say build it to a spec, not to a price point. That being said, I don't think 2k is prohibitively expensive if the tranny can be reliable and hold up to big power.
Why are the built honda trannys $4895? Just their gear kit with no shafts/no syncros for a WRX is 2295 for 1st-4th. I just don't see a fully built tranny with input shafts and gears and new syncros and such for the SRT in the 2k range.

The 4895 was including a whole rebuild including sliders hubs synchros, seals and bearings and a whole new tranny and assembly and the new gears and shafts and fd!
If you were to purchase the gears and shafts and have someone who knows your tranny replace the parts with the new parts it would be around 2k. This would be a an approx. price for gears and shafts. Not the fd. But we need ideas.
A gear set for 1/3/4 and fd is about 2k for my honda app.
So 2k for 1-4 would be a ballpark range. Plus i would find someone to test these gears and beat on them to make sure it takes the beating and holds.

The bigger boys on here are wanting longer gears especially 1st.
maybe
48 @ 6500 in 1st
80 in 2nd
115 in 3rd
151 in 4th.
and stock 5th.

It would be built to spec to hold a shit load of power! Forged billet chromoly that has went through the propietary treatment for optimum performance and reduced gear and shaft fatigue. There also be options to replace certain parts instead of all, these will be direct oem replacement.

04 E-Blue SRT-4 <-Under construction, built bottom end, ported and built head, big turbo, standalone, auto trans, its going to be nasty!!
Ask yourself one question:
"When you turn your car on, does it return the favor?"
If i can get atleast 20 interested, we can possibly get them built for ya, we will start off by building 1-2 test sets and make sure they hold before they go for sale. The Ceo of Mfactory will be monitoring this thread.
