Default ticking transmission...

Ok, my transmission is making some pretty loud clicking noises at idle, sort of a rattling sound. The car drives normal, except the rattling starts at like 2k rpms and stops at like 2500-3000 rpms... I don't know what caused the noise to start, because I was a retard and let someone drive my car for a while.

I asked one of the master tech's at dodge and he told me that it probably has something to do with either the input shaft, clutch, flywheel, or throwout bearing, since it happens at idle when the gears aren't moving. Any help is greatly appreciated.

edit - looking around a little bit more, it seems that the throw out bearing commonly causes the noise, but would that cause the knocking while in gear?

I replaced my throwout bearing about 2 weeks ago because I had the same problem, and it went away at idle, now it only does it while I am driving, aprox 2500-4000 rpm..

An aftermarket clutch would cause the weird clicking-tapping noise at idle.. Driving then something is wrong
