if you have been reading i would think you would have found these answers. The chain is what actually connects the BS to the crank which allows the BS to do it's job. remove the chain and the BS really isnt in the equation anymore. The reason for removing it to disable the BS is because the BS wasnt made to hold that amount of power. there are some weak parts that have shown to be prone to breaking above that HP level. removing the bs chain is more of a precautionary thing as there have been many people over that hp range with no problems with their bs still intact, however i didnt want to take that chance, and therefore removed mine.

What can happen. The chain can bunch up because they used cheap plastic tensioners under higher engine TQ levels.

If the chain does bunch up then it will fold over and punch a hole in the oil pump or crack the block. When this happens it takes out the oil pump and pretty much ruins the motor.

So, if your going to mod your motor at all.... the BS assembly should be removed at all costs.

^^^ Like these guys said. Also, balance shafts spin at twice engine RPM. I don't like parts spinning at 13k RPM in a street engine. Just another reason to cut it.

oddly enough my 03 had aluminum rails, but nevertheless 10hp is 10hp, and now I got 10 more
