quick question fellas im running 50trim with supporting mods gonna be around 415ish whp and going with sbc 5x ne issues here? my srt is more of my fun/weekend car....but will go to the track about 3-4 times this yr other than that all freeway pulls
I don't see a problem running that clutch on you're setup.
hrm, what were your mods? I have a stg 3 and now im adding more power than i planned on and I was thinking the stg4 was the clutch for me....but i dont hear a lot of guys going with the stg 4...
No way shane stage 4 isn't enough for what your doing. S3r's torque come on really fast and you need the extra stage on the clutch to hold it. I think that aaron even has a modded one above the stage 5.

There is no point in running the stage 5X with that power on a 50 trim. The stage 3 would hold that power.
If you go above 450wtrq use the stage 5. If you max out the 50 trim, use the stage 5X.
For mopar stage 3 turbo guys[typical bolt-ons] use the stage 3 clutch. For heavy racing and slick guys, use the stage 5x.
We have used the stage 4 on numerous stage 3 big wheeled setups also, however those guys tend not to race on slicks very much. Its the slicks and power shifting that will kill clutches.
Damn it Aaron, every time I read more of this post I get more confused. One day it's go for the 5x, one day it's go for the street disk lol. I'm so confused, and I just want a clutch that is going to not slip on me. I had nothing but clutch slipping problems ALL last year with the ps1 and ps2. I dont track my car much, few times a year, on dot slicks. Power levels are in sig, the main time my clutch slips is right after doing a small burn out. I go to race from a dig (on street tires mind you) and on the launch the rpms just climb to 6.5k and the car goes slower then a GEO, with fat people in it. Then sometimes it holds just fine.
I'm just frusturated with all the clutch problems, every time I want to race from a dig. How much of a clutch life trade of is there between full face and puck? In general.
I wanted you to use the Stage 5x, as you will not toast that clutch with your setup, or if you mod more. You have had enough problems, that I wanted you to go with the strongest we could offer
Aaron,Is there a price difference between stage5 and stage5x?
Not as of right now.
Just to clarify, one is not better or stronger than the other really. People are getting hyped up for nothing. One just does things a tad different than the other.
The stage 5 is better suited for high powered cars and the stage 5x is for the down low torque guys
i have the SBC Stage 3 with LW Flywheel and ARP bolts...........got it from PTP.........i love it. will be upgrading to the new Stage 5x here soon............no problems with my Stage 3. just added alot of extra mods.

Yea we went 11.3 with Brads Big wheel way back when on the stage 3 clutch. Had to keep it there as it would slip if we turned the wick up. Im sure with an aftermarket suspension and the stage 5x, the car would have went 10s

Would the difference be between the pressure plate clamping loads?
