Well I have a Big wheel stage3 and i'm looking for a clutch but the car is driven 85% on the street is the stage5x for me? or should I look for a full face clutch? and buy the looks of it we should try and get a group buy together. Seems to be alot of interest in these clutches.
I am buying a clutch in a week. I was trying to decide which clutch I need to buy. I am running an SC 61 and plan on making 400 - 450hp. I was deciding between both of these clutches and I really need to know whats best for my setup. I was set to order the ACT, but now I'm really liking the stage 5. My car rarely goes to the track, but loves embarrassing your random V8's here and there... mostly highway brake boosting, not too many times from dig. Someone wanna chime in for the answer and include some pricing figures on stage 5, I already found ACT for 575+15 shipping (modular)...

where did u find an ACT that was modular? Ive never heard of one. In my opinion it comes down to if your using slicks or not. If not I would get a full face clutch.

I agree.
If you dont race on slicks, stage 3 clutch will be plenty for most people. If you use slicks and make over 450wtrq, the stage 3 clutch will not be very happy.
We went 11.3 using the stage 3 clutch on a big wheeld stage 3, but couldnt turn it up past that, as the clutch couldnt take it.

A group buy is not going to happen, at least not right now.
I have already asked, and then begged, and the answer is No. They are selling really well as is, so a GB really isnt going to help us sell them.
What kind of life span can I expect using the stage5 on the street? Whats the difference between stage5 and stage5x?
Its next to impossible to give an accurate ''lifespan'' as its going to differ greatly between person and car.
I only recommend the stage 5X for those who actually need it. It does give an increase in pedal feel and i really only recommend it for balls to the walls big wheeled stage 3 guys, or nitrous 50 trim/stage 3 guys
I'm sorry... I meant non- modular. the flywheel is included in that price though. Well I figured that my setup would be comparable along side with big wheel s3's. I mean I'm running a 60-1 trim big turbo so I dont wanna get anything that's not going to hold what I need. I'm prolly only going to hit at max 450 whp right now, but I plan onmaking more power down the line. I dont wanna have to replace the clutch cuz it wont hold up in the future. so will a stage 3 be enough... if so great - that's less money out of my pocket.

A 60-1 is not comparable at all to a stage 3 setup.
If you plan on making more power in the future, than you need a stage 5 clutch
guess ill get in on this......right now im stock turbo (maxed out) and the stock clutch just took a shit on slicks the other night. within the year im gonna do a turbo upgrade to either a .50 trim or a V3 SST. what stage would be recommended??

Damn it Aaron, every time I read more of this post I get more confused. One day it's go for the 5x, one day it's go for the street disk lol. I'm so confused, and I just want a clutch that is going to not slip on me. I had nothing but clutch slipping problems ALL last year with the ps1 and ps2. I dont track my car much, few times a year, on dot slicks. Power levels are in sig, the main time my clutch slips is right after doing a small burn out. I go to race from a dig (on street tires mind you) and on the launch the rpms just climb to 6.5k and the car goes slower then a GEO, with fat people in it. Then sometimes it holds just fine.
I'm just frusturated with all the clutch problems, every time I want to race from a dig. How much of a clutch life trade of is there between full face and puck? In general.
