Mine is slipping - stage 5 non-modular - already have a stage 5 race ready to go in
I'm convinced no matter what clutch you get in this car, it's going to overheat and start slipping at some point - either that or your 3/4 synch is going to take a poop.
Hope the race series works for you . My race stage 4 never disengaged all the way....and the pedal is pretty hefty as well.
now whats interesting is if you wonder over to other forums, like the Cummins Diesel forums they all run feramic clutches when they pull heavy loads/compete saying that they'll put up with more abuse than ceramic clutches will.

NOT including twin disk's... I dunno i know someone who is making 500whp with a ACT 6 puck, but others have problems....
I think alot of it is install error... and the higher whp cars should use unsprung, but the stock shaft cant take the abuse...Or can it, Rage tek has tons of unsprung 6 puck cars running around

What the hell is this install error, specifically with modular clutch systems? So long as you don't get oil or any other contaminants in the clutch itself, I don't see how you can install it incorrectly. A non-mod system is a different story, however.
It doesn't make sense that such a sucked-off clutch would start slipping after 5k miles. Let's hear the "faulty install" comments!
I hear ya.
About your twin disc comment. I spoke with Clutchmasters about it and the FX600 isn't as aggressive as everybody says. I may give that one a shot if need be. The FX700, yes will snap your input shaft.
if i had issues with a clutch @ 5k miles that carries a 1year / 12,000 mile warranty i'd go back to the place i got it from / SBC and talk to them about it. but thats just me.
right on. might want to invest in an input shaft then too.
Already have an aftermarket input shaft

What are the discs in the Rage set up made of?
Not sure, but it handles their drag car constantly with the power its making. Plus, it's an extremely light kit! There's a thread about it in their vendor section.

TBH if a clutch goes out at 5k miles, or starts slipping, I am not putting their clutch back in my car, even if it is under warranty. I can send it in and see if they give me a new one then sell it, but for the labor involved in doing a clutch swap, and the fact that I have to battle time already having a full time job and being in graduate school full time, just swapping clutches every 5k miles is not something I can really dedicate myself to.
We will have to see over time if it's truly slipping...it may have been the tires breaking loose since there was a little moisture on the road. The 35R tends to do that occasionally
