I dont go making new threads about how great or bad a product is. How many threads have you seen made about "what clutch should I get?" I tell them my .02 when they create said thread....end of story. If I'm lying it would be different. If I'm installing the clutch improperly it would be different. But when clutches slip just because I put on slicks and turn HOM on, something is obviously wrong with the holding power of clutch being questioned. Would you not agree? Again, I could be overheating it by doing burnouts wrong, or the long wait in the staging lanes....everybody is quick to point out "DUSTIN (ME) INSTALLED THE CLUTCH WRONG" or, "DUSTIN CANT DRIVE".
Well maybe fucking so. I've had the quickest NSRT4 here in Vegas with DOCUMENTED times at the drag strip for probably 2 years or so ever since I started hitting the track with Stage 3. There's a couple "from a roll" dudes that have yet to show face at the track and I'm sure they are faster....they just don't use slicks and all that. Point is that I abuse the clutches, I guess. I dont see me getting into the 11s here unless I get a 1.7x 60' at least, along with hitting my WOT shifts all the time, every time.
Anyways, please tell me what I'm doing wrong....anybody want to see my video? I'll be happy to post it????
Looking to take that title this season

Not sure what I'm doing. Changing Ruben's fuel pump...meeting Karen on her break at 3am(weo weo wee)....thats about it. Ash text me....what you guys up to?

Back for the ensuing lulz....guess what happened today at the track with somebody who has a Stage 5? 2nd pass ever on it.
So no sir, you are wrong. This is a continuing problem that's a shame.
Sounds like any other part, you're going to only get the people that have problems posting up.. everyone else that has had a good experience isn't going to care about a failure thread made.
lol, i remember threads about CM clutches going bad and vendors trashing them left and right (only the ones who sold other brands) truth is CM has probably sold 10 x more clutches for the SRT and had 1/2 the failures
some opinions are only good if you are standing on that side of the cash register
I posted earlier in this thread about my experience with SBC. It's a few posts back.
Something else I've been thinking about as well....
Their packaging absolutely sucks. They sent me their race series stage 4, which is non-modular. Imagine all three pieces stacked on top of one another, with no bolts or cushioning/packaging between the different pieces. That's exactly how I received mine. Disc material had nicks in it, pressure plate had a small gouge on the contact surface. Just a no bueno scenario. Can't believe they would even send something like that out.
Another part of my "hatred" towards SBC.
This, my own personal experience with their clutches, and the fact that I still think they are SFI certified. Could be wrong now, but they werent when I was dealing with them.
i have talked to a "clutch" manufacture here in cali and they said that is a huge % of the bad clutches is from shipping damages, that sux cause the end user ends up paying twice for it and there is no real way to tell if there is a slight bend or a crack from a visual inspection
