Default South Bend Clutch Failure

Who has had a South Bend clutch that has completely failed?

Who has had a South Bend clutch explode?

If you have had any of these problems please list

What stage clutch you had?

What flywheel you had?

Was it modular or non modular?

What mileage you had on the clutch/ how old it was?

What damage?

Please respond to the questions, please do not make comments unless they are with the above.

Depends on what definition of completely failed you are speaking of.

I've had a non-modular stage 5x slip on me the first time at the track.

I then have had a race series stage 4 not disengage all the way right from the get go.

I think the clutches exploding, be it SBC or whoever, are the modular clutches because you can only rev the flex plate to 6700 safely IMO.

I overheated my Stage 4 which caused the disk to become one with the pressure plate. Sent it back to SBC and they warrantyed it for a Stage 5. They received it on a Thursday afternoon and had it back in the mail by Friday. No issues. Both clutches are Modular on a 50 trim + SCT flashed + bolt-on car w/ slicks.

Great customer service

Jon @ SBC FTW.

edit: My next clutch after this Stage 5 6-puck will be the SBC Race Series Stage 3.

Yeah they explode. If you have one of these be careful. If it feels like it is slipping at all don't run your car anymore. You will be saving yourself a lot of money.
