Alright, I recently purchased a srt4 about 3 months ago. From first look everything seemed good to go, car was in good condition and only had 73,000 miles on it. After a month went by I began to realize that the individual that owned it before me did not take care of this car at all. About a week ago, I had a real bad clutter/shake coming from the transmission, at first I thought maybe it had a bad transmission mount. So I replaced all the mounts with dog bones including the transmission and it continued. So I figured it was the flywheel or clutch. Today I pulled the transmission and I dont know how to tell if I have a warped flywheel or clutch. It is a ACT street disk clutch with a act lightweight flywheel. Attached are the photos, can anyone chime in and let me know if I need to purchase a whole new clutch and flywheel or can I replace just the flywheel or just the pressure plate.
P.S. The transmission was only held on by 3 bolts and was missing the bracket that the oil cooler lines and up pipe attach to.

The clutch looks pretty beat up. You would have to send it to ACT to see if its damaged at all.

Previous owner has to be it. That thing is burnt glazed and ragged from launches and poor clutch skill.
The only clutch worse than that I've seen was my friends 332xi, we went to the track and lauched it all day long, got home. The damn thing was in pieces and bright blue. Op I know that feel, I spent 3k in the first month of owning my car because the PO ruined everything, but I got mine for 5k so it wasent so bad. |

I got mine for 6 which I still feel isnt that bad considering the low miles. It sucks that the guy didnt take care of it but ill get it where I want it. I am going to send the clutch to ACT once they respond to my email to find out if anything is worth keeping, if not I will be ordering the ACT HD 6 puck clutch. Then before I put the clutch and tranny back in I have a few things I need to fix like the clutch cables he had ziptied. This is also giving me an opportunity to clean up the engine bay a little bit.

Booger bushings and act 6 puck was the best life choice I've ever made. When you pick up a low mile srt4 for cheap, its because they know what they did to ruin the car and don't want you to bother them about it.
Mine has a red pressure plate though, which I've never seen on another srt4. |

alrighty, installed the new act 6 puck with the hd plate and the vibration in the transmission is fixed!!! Also I replaced the shifter cables since the individual before me had it zip tied to work, and I bought new bolts for the transmission along with the brackets and installed everything the way it is suppose to. Now onto the new issue, the guy that owned the car before me had the power steering return line drilled through the power steering cap so I got a new resevoir and cap and replaced that while I had the car up and now the power stearing is squealing like crazy, any ideas?
