I had all these problems, the dealers i took it to said it was clutch. put in a CM stage4, and the problems persisted. broke the gear selector tab on the shift linkage, twice. Finally had the tranny rebuilt (3/4 gear, synchros, and other stuff). Put in a CM stage 3 with lightened fly, and i am very afraid of WOT. the car is shifting better now. the synchos are out for most of you....raise hell at the dealership till they fix it.

It didnt grind going into 3rd untill about 2200 miles. Only did it once in awile then next couple days started grinding maybe 25% of the time I shifted to 3rd. I skip 3rd now and go from 2nd to 4th. I'll post when i get it fixed.
I have more problems getting into 2nd gear. 2nd just doesn't want to go in. No grinding, no popping out, just won't go in unless I push hard. Its a bit bizarree, but I have nowhere near enough miles on my car to know if there is a problem.
3rd gear acts up, but only when its cold and that is normal for any vehicle.
EDIT: I now have over 6,000 miles on my car and the tranny shifting up through the gears has greatly improved. However down shifting still sucks and the only way I have found to down shift without grinding gears is to double clutch. Shouldn't need to do this I know, but at least it makes good practice for driving random race cars or dump trucks
I think that the problem is more related to the clutch pedal not being able to engage/disengage the clutch completely between shifts. Something with the pedal through needs to be improved.
@ 1100mi. When the car is cold, going into 3rd is a little crunchy on the up shift and down shift, but it ends up going all the way in and has yest to pop out. Once the tranny juices are warmed up to operating temp, going into 3rd on the up shift and down shift is fairly smooth.
The guys around work have heard of people installing double and tripple syncros in performance cars that are driven hard. Maybe the syncros are marginal in this transmission and the fix is to at least double syncro.
Anyone else heard of theis double/triple syncro thing?

I have just dissected an 04 and 05 Tranny today and will have the pics on line tomorrow.. I can't believe what I saw.. All I'm going to say is DCX needs to do some serious re-thinking when it comes to their R&D. I will show you what I mean tomorrow..
omg i cant see how i found a thread like this,i just thought it was me....my third down shifting and up,not to much on wot shifting kicks me up and grinds like a mofo, sometimes when i shift it pops out grinds, while my hand is still on i will shove it back in...grinds.blows dude, what should i do?like 52xx miles on the car, alot of shit im going to have to take off to go in for warentee, anyway around?
ok so here's what mine is doing:
05 Acr 3100miles or so
3rd gear rarely locks out. Like once a month if that. But 5th gear like, clockwork, no matter what rpm I shift at. It's very very annoying. I'm taking it in later this month when I have another car to drive.
3rd gear synchros gone at 5300 miles.buddy of mine is a tech and said changes were made on the 05 trannys(obviously for the worst)and a service bulletin has been issued for 05 3rd gear problems.car is in the shop being fixed under warranty, well see what happens.
where can we find this service bulletin im about to say f it and buy a o3-o4 tranny and fix it myself.
Thats the problem, alot of dealers wont tell you honestly about these service bulletins they will do anything to not warranty your car.try and find a cool dealership.the service bulletin tells the techs to first try some different mopar tranny gear oil and if that doesnt work they are instructed to either rebuild the synchros or if the cost to labor exceeds 70% they are to replace the tranny.
I don't have the car yet, get in a few days. But when I took it out for a text drive, 1 and 2nd worked fine (little stiff, normal) but 3rd gear was god damm just hard as hell to get in to. I know at least once I had to put it back in to netural, clutch again then it went in to 3rd but not smooth at all. I hope that problem doesn't stick around. Then again the car only has 60km's on it.
It is sounding like a lot of crap is wrong with 3rd gear though. I'm curious to see when I get my car if pushing it litely in to third gear (letting the shifter/syncros do the work, instead of 'forcing') will cause a grind, I'm almost guessing yes.
