yeah, I have been trying to get this info as well, the dealer keeps trying to stiff me. What is your case in court? I am starting to get really irritated with DCX over this.
Is the problem with "popping" back out of third gear a syncro problem, shift fork problem, or a shift selector problem?
syncro problem.....first my shift fork broke for 3rd and 4th.....then my shift selector broke a week after i fixed the first problem...now my 3rd gear syncros are gone....my car has had so many f***ing tranny problems...its at the dealer right now getting a new one put in.

When i first got the car it grinded from time to time going into 3rd. It never popped out or did anything different just grinded from time to time. Well it stopped grinding for a few months and just a few days ago without notice my 3rd gear went out. It goes into place where 3rd gear should be at but there is nothing there. It does not grind or anything. Every other gear is perfectly fine. oh and the shift lever has alot of play now too. Any suggestions on what could have happened or how to fix it?

you might have broken part of the shift fork off or your 3rd gear broke the welds on the shaft(only seen one case of this but it can happen) i dont think that would be a syncro problem but its possible if they desinegrated. But more than likely you broke off part of you shift fork that is used to push the fork forward to go into third....take it to the dealer they will fix it under warranty.

welds of the shaft know another person that did this.. 3rd gear is spinning on the shaft. He got his replaced under warranty..

hahaha thanks for the laugh and the advice fellas! i feel alot better about the whole situation now. Now i just have to spend a day in the garage taking off a few things and hopefully all will work out! I guess its just crappy luck but oh well i still love my baby
I have an 05' with about 45,000 and 3rd is the only gear giving me problems, if it doesnt grind going in it'll pop out. It was giving me problems way before my warranty was over just not this bad. Now im out of a warranty and these people wont fix it. I have extended warranty but I guess it didnt cover drivetrain. Am I pretty much screwed?

I had pretty much the same situation as you. My 3rd gear was doing the same thing. I had the trans rebuilt 2 months ago and now it doesnt grind under normal driving but. It falls out of gear now instead. I would start looking around at 3speed applications imo.
i got my car back today from Dodge and it ended up being that my 3rd gear and synchro completely broke inside the tranny and managed to not interfere with any other gear...... really weird but my car is back in business and i spent 0 dollars thanks for the info guys and good luck to everyone else having problems
