I'm going to use this info to make stronger parts that will eliminate this problem.. All the input I can get would be great.. Dog Box anyone??? We need to see what fails the most first..
Occasionally 3rd gear feels blocked when I upshift. Happens a couple times a week, and I only drive about 500 miles a week. If I'm not paying much attention, it will grind when I get off the clutch. I have to push pretty hard to get it in.
My first gear gives me a prob sometimes. I'll have the clutch in and it will make this fast ticking sound when I push forward and then it'll kind of snap in on it's own. rarely happens though.

That happens to mine too. My third gear feels ok. then again my car is only 2 weeks old...
heh, give it some time to break in... my tranny used to suck balls, but now that i have over 26k on it, its smooth as butter. I am running 2 qts Royal Purple Syncromesh and the rest of the tranny i filled with Royal Purple 5W-30 (less than a quart). This was accidental (didn't buy enough tranny fluid), but it seems to work real nice.

when i try shifiting into 3rd gear i need to match my RPM's very closely or else it will grind and kick me out of gear same thing happends when i down shift! also under WOT shifts it does not let me select 3rd gear, no matter what i do, it just won't go in!
oh and lnxsrt.... how do u like gentoo? ive heard good things but haven't gotten around to trying it, i currently run slackware, and have used debian, rock, and various other distros... any of them similar?

love it, used it for over 2 years now. I would say its a cross between debian and slack, definietly more barebones then the big distros. I like it because of the control I have over the build process of packages. As long as you have a fast computer and don't mind compiling stuff, its really good.
mine blocks me out of third sometimes. other times, it feels like it clicks in halfway. as long as i keep the clutch depressed and pressure on the shifter it will go the rest of the way in.
i also have a problem with second gear. it feels notchy a majority of the time and grinds occasionally.
I'm going to be giving this INFO to a performance shop who is going to be making some stronger parts to eliminate this problem.. All the input I can get would be great.. Dog Box anyone??? We need to see what fails the most first..
Thanks
Our tannys need a stronger input shaft, I and a few others have already sheared one off.
I only have problems with mine when I'm WOT shifting. 1st->2nd is fine, 2nd->3rd it wont go in and i wind up coming off the clutch, going wot, and then just bounch off the rev limiter because it never went into 3rd. If I take that extra second to really make sure its in third though, it goes in fine.
mine grinds third if u dont go slow as hell,it it grinds third during wot shifting,it grinds every single time unless u go slow..and it also wont go in sumtimes and also will pop right back out at u
Mine worked fine for the first 7k miles or so but now almost every shift into 3rd, WOT or not it grinds. It goes in tight but that is expected with my Maddog STS and Booger bushings. My clutch also squeals when I WOT into any gear.
