INFO: The SRT-4 T850 5-Speed Manual Transmission

The manual transmission that is in the SRT-4 is the NV T850 5-speed transmission. It is a constant-mesh manual transmission that is synchronized in all gear ranges, including reverse unlike the T350 transmission, that is in all 1.6L 2.0L and 2.0 R/T cars, that isn’t synchronized in reverse.

I am new to this forum but i have been looking around and for some info on the srt-4 trannys and found this tread. I have a 98 R/T neon and was wondering what tranny is in that? and if it was possible to put the 04 to 05 SRT LSD tranny in its place but i have my doubts teh it will fit the 1st gen platform? Please Help.

The T-850 has been used in a Chrysler European Mini-van Application (RG) 2.4L I-4 gas & 2.5L I-4 Turbo diesel from 2001.5 to 2007. It was used in the Chrysler Sebring GTC convertible and Dodge Status R/T (JR) behind the 2.7L gas V-6 (used unique transmission housing) for 2002 & 2003. It was used in the Dodge SRT-4 (PL SRT-4) 2.4L gas turbo I-4 from 2003.5 to 2005.
