What year is your car? 2003

How many miles? 50k at time of failure.

What suspension mods do you have? At time of failure - Tein SS Coilovers.

How many times have they failed? 1 time - Grease is supposed to stay IN the boot dammit.

Replaced by Dodge? No, replaced by ME.

Driving style? A mix of granny and aggressive.

Changes to the suspension geometry does seem to directly affect the life of axles. The quickest one to date made every run on '03 axles...

Well that just sucks a big one. I don't want to have to replace my axles every 10 thousand miles for godsakes! . I love my current suspension set-up and I don't want to have to change it. Damn! The only other springs I would consider are the Hotchkis. I wonder if the axles will still go out with those.

I'm still curious as to why the axles were redesigned if the 03 axles were fine. Can anyone explain that one?

People dont let these asshole dealers fool you!! I cant remember what act it is but it states that your warranty can not be voided unless it can be PROVEN that the aftermarket part installed caused the problem. We stick to that at my dealer. The way I see it is that there is a issue with 03 axles and lowering the car is not gonna be that much of a issue, not unless your totally slammed to the ground.

It's called the Magnus Moss warrenty act or something. I actually brought that up when I talked to the mechanic. He said that when you buy the car and you sign the paperwork, it says in there somewhere that if you alter the car Dodge does not have to honer warrenty work. He was gonna get the papers and show me, But I was in a hurry. It prolly does say it in the fine print somewhere. I'm sure that Dodge covered thier asses and I'm gonna get screwed.
Dodge was supposed to call me today about wether they would warrenty my axles but they never called. I left a very frank message with the dealership saying that I sure would appreciate a call back when they say thier gonna call. I'll try again tommorow. I already miss drinving my car so bad..

was there any tell tail signs, noise's or what ever befor your axle's went out? I have alot of play and a cliking kind of noise................ by neighbor (buddy who is an Army mechanic) has an 03 and was checking mine out. After going back and forth he decided he's also does it but mine is deff louder and more pronounced. Also he thinks its play on the tranny or some thing. Not likely to be the axle.................. says he can "feel" the click noise in the tranny from underneath the car................... worried about running it hard since the track is over an hour away!

Well, They finally told me it would not be under warrenty after jerking me around for three weeks. The dealership was rude and never called me back. I had to call the service manager who was also rude and made it a point to tell me that any work I had gotton done would not be under warrenty either. I just went and had my axle swapped out on my own dime with another shop.

The other axle is out now too. . I believe that after bieng forced to drive around for three weeks with a messed up drivers side axle, there was excess stress placed on the passenger side causing it to fail again.

This is now my fourth axle. I am so depressed and stressed over this. I don't make enough money to keep fixing things on my car. This is turning into such a nightmare that I am seriously loosing sleep from bieng stressed about this car!

On top of all this I just noticed that I have a screw in my front right tire.

Yeah, I have bought two replacement axles. The passenger side arrived today. I just sat home durring my three day weekend because I'm to scared to drive my car and screw up the newly installed driver side axle. My next day off isn't until next tuesday so my GF is taking the car in for me this thursday. PLEASE GOD LET THIS BE THE END OF IT! If I get my car back this time and it still wobbles I seriously think I'm gonna cry.

I have an '03 with 30,000 miles, 2'' lowering springs, and broke both axles at once, Dodge warrentied them, but not without a hassle.
