Thanks for the responses guys. Keep em coming. I know there are many more of you out there. I am not suprised to see many of you with stock suspensions had axle failures as well. Dodge try's to blame it on drop springs but I don't believe that this is the case.
Those of you who replaced your own axles, How much does a new ( not rebuilt) OEM axle cost? Wheres the cheapest place to get them, and 04 axles will fit an 03 without a problem right?
Cheapest place is Mopar Super Center @ $106 and $108 I believe for the each axle. I think it only came out to like $230 or something shipped to my door for both...
Changing them is easy, there is a how-to. And yes, an '04-'05 axle will work in an '03
Replaced by Dodge? No, i just ordered it myself since i was pulling the tranny to do clutch anyways and if i let the dealer do it, it would've taken a week.
Driving style? Sorta aggresive, did about 50 passes at the track over the last 6 months. Inner driver's side broke right when i released the clutch going through the waterbox. And thats with street tires too.

mine is an 03, 45,950 miles, failed once, dodge laughed and said 850 dollars to replace plus labor, i laughed and gave the finger got 04 axles as replacements and got them installed for 30 bucks.driving styles is pretty normal other than letting it rip once or twice down the road.

dont ever try a reverse donut, i've seen knuckles come apart on Grand Prix's. havent seen one on an SRT yet, anyone notice the CV's clunk when turning? that's your first sign of failure.
How many of you folks abuse the axles with wheel hop and/or wot when turning at slow speed? The much maligned Dynoworks car had over 500 hp and ran many runs in the 11's with 26X9.5X15 slicks and it was running stock '03 axles and never had a failure. I have have stock '04 axles that have taken a lot of abuse without failure.

Why fix something if it aint broke. Dodge obviosly recognised that there are problems with the integrity of the 03 axles and beefed them up for a reason. This is why I'm pissed off that they might not be covered.
I dropped my car off today. Hopefully I'll hear dodge's verdict tommorow. I took it to another dealer. The first one told me that Dodge prolly won't cover it because it's lowered-blah,blah,blah... Hopefully the new dealership won't give me a hassle, but I read a post a while ago about how Dodge is getting anal about warrenty work now, so we'll see.
