Went to the track today, and I was tryin 2 shift into second..... it wouldnt go.... I was giving it everything I had and it wouldnt go in.
Then if finally did. On the street I have no problems shifting into second gear under normal driving conditions, or even driving hard. So I dont believe it would be my syncros....
I just bought the 72% reduction MadDog Shifter. Someone said maybe adjusting the shift cables would fix my prob... would this work?

If this isnt adjusted correctly..... what are the signs??
What does adjusting this do?
Maddog... can you send me the document on how to do this? I misplaced it. All I have are: Rod Brake Set Kit Installation and Adjustment, and your return address sheet.

Your rod brake my be out of adjustment, too. Make sure the front plate is not too far back.
Here are the instructions:
To adjust your neutral position:
1) You will need to remove the center console.
2) Set the brake; put trans in 3rd or 4th ONLY.
3) Using an 8mm wrench or socket, loosen the small bolt (about 3 turns) located on the driver's side cable where it attatches to the gate arm. Make sure that the connection is loose, and that you are in 3rd/4th gear.
4) Retighten the bolt.

Did this tonight.....
Still hard 2 get into 2nd and 4th?
The rod brakes are set correctly.
Any one else had this prob with or without maddog shifter?
i cannot stress to you guys upgrading to the maddog that over time the stock bushings will literally be destroyed by the reduction in throw/pressure....leaving you with cable ends on the rods or on the tranny forks.....GET BOOGERS

I have booger bushings.... I have had a mopar sts since i bought the car last Jan. I just recently bought the Maddog
hmmm might wanna pop the hood and take a look at the two cable ends on the tranny forks...
see over time the cables slide down towards the base of the forks and because the boogers are a tad short. When they slide down it gives the driver a hard time engaging certain gears cause its like the cables arent quite on but they are visually. Look at them both before touching them...hell if you have a cam snap a few shots....then try sliding both cables upward WITHOUT popping bushing/cables off fork

I just put the boogers on. How do I make sure the cables are infact all the way on? They looked like they are visually.
When i have a hard time pulling it into 2nd or 4th, I can hear a knock cause im pulling it so hard. I wouldnt think it would be the shift selector only in 2 gears.... and its only in 2nd and 4th.
