Was the transmission hot? Did you just get done driving your car? If so there will be some pressure built up but not much. Heres a tip, remove the fill plug before the drain plug to release the pressure and help drain the trans.

Really it doesn't unless *unless* you upgrade the fluid to like Royal Purple or RedLine. It will help out on the shifts alot, I put redline in mine and I noticed a big difference over the mopar fluid that comes in it.

Its more expensive but well worth it in the end. I am working on a write up on the difference between red line and mopar, so look for it soon.

royal purple 75w90 was only $1.11 more per quart than atf+4......

for an extra $3.33 i'm much happier..

p.s. change your tranny fluid every 18,000 miles... i never had done it and i was @ 43k.....
cheers

I was going to use Amsoil ATF or Synchromesh. Are either of these a problem? I'm seeing 6 pints to fill, is this correct?

Amsoil ATF is the best in my book. You do not need the FM for this fluid but if you really want some Amsoil sells LSD FM.
