Default clutch slave cylinder and master help

Ok I am about to start a swap and i have some questions just to prepare me. First question: Is there anyway to tell if a clutch master and or slave cylinder is bad? the connect point is connected

There are a couple tabs o the slave that im not sure about if they are broken or not.

the other question I have is the rubber piece on the slave cylinder I will post pictures later but i dont know if its in the right place..

thanks for the help oh and sorry for the bad pics.. I only have my cell phone right now.

It goes in the side of the tranny push it into the the pivot fork. theres that plastic cover there and you should be able to see it from there. I Just replaced one for my friend and it took me like 15 mins.
