ALWAYS take modified parts off before going to the dealer if possible.

Hopefully someone can help. I had never had any problems with my clutch till the other day. I was driving and all of a sudden it was hard to shift into and out of gears. I stopped and worked thru the gears a bit, still hard. Then I was able to go thru all the gears just fine, but when i went to move again the car didn't move and just revved as if I was holding the clutch in, or had the car in neutral. The problem stayed and I am not able to move the car.

Remove shift cover and verify smooth operation. Replace as necessary.
Misassembled synchronizer components also cause shifting problems.
Incorrectly installed synchronizer sleeves, keys, balls, or springs can cause shift problems.

SLIPS OUT OF GEAR

Transaxle disengagement may be caused by misaligned or damaged shift components, or worn teeth on the drive gears or synchronizer components. Incorrect assembly also causes gear disengagement. Check for missing snap rings.

CLUTCH PROBLEMS

Worn, damaged, or misaligned clutch components can cause difficult shifting, gear clash, and noise. A worn or damaged clutch disc, pressure plate, or release bearing can cause hard shifting and gear clash.

This is what my car has been doing. But only in 3rd gear. It sounds like I am getting gear clash, and while letting out the clutch, it clashes a bit and tries to throw itself out of gear, but if I put a bit of pressure on the shifter it stays in and everything is ok. This all started happening after a night at the track with a multitude of missed WOT shifts.. I wonder if it is a clutch issue. Any ideas?

i believed the wot shifts w/ ur upgraded clutch most likely pulled a fast one on the input shaft they've been known to do that w/ the stock clutch so just imagine something w/ much more force let alone 500hp..

ps props on the build i was checking that out the other day... need to look it up at home so i can watch the vids tho

i've been seeing alot of crap with the clutch in here. on mine a pressed in plate on the back of the flywheel came out. the dealer(tech) tried to tell me that the clutch, flywheel, and flexplate were all chewed up. when i went to go see the damage, you quessed it B.S. did i mention i drove the car in(no slipping) for a ticking sound. after two months of phone tag, e-mails, cert letters; my lawyer wants to show them how they do it in prision. i'm thinking about a class action lawsuit, but i'm not to good with the forum thing. anyone want to help out let me know. lmottu@hotmail.com

Wow there need to be a recall on the clutch, cuz I just bought a BRAND NEW SRT-4 a month ago '05 with 7 miles on it and about 800 miles later it started making wired noise, it was shifting good no problems driving it but just the noise everytime you switched gears. I took it to the dealership where I bought it and they called me the other day saying the clutch, throw out bearing had went out and they are gonna need to replace it. The main guy there told me that it was my fault for some bull shit reason and said they are not going to replace it AGAIN if this happens again. Now I have about 1600 miles on it and Im getting that same noise just not as loud as before. The tranny and clutch on these cars are worth of shit and I think we all need to do something on seeing about a recall... Whos with me? konda_ander@yahoo.com

Default Clutch

Kind of new here. I have a 2005 srt acr with only 7674 miles on it. I have no modified parts on this car. My clutch went coming home from work. The tech at dodge thinks that the pressure plate has come apart. dodge does not want to fix it. I have contacted a lawyer. I will meet with this person friday to see where I stand. If any body can get a list of people together maybe we can do something about this.

Viper 202 plz listen..it was happening to me before my car broke..i'd put it in 3rd and as i release the clutch, i'd pop right off gear back to neutral until the somehow without any grinding on clinging, the wouldnt go into any gear watsoever, i just pu a CM S4 w/ aluminum flywheel and it still not working, the dealer master technician said my clutch was burnt i didnt believe him and now that i installed the clutch i stil;l have the same problem..could it be my clutch was fine the whole time and it was a shifter cable?
slave cyl? i posted another thread ..any help is appreciated..the car only is '05 may 04 production..and only 25k....i can count the times i ever misshift with the car and i really doubted it was the clutch in the 1st place
