You gotta take the engine damn near out of the bay to do it. It's a 12-hr job.
I didn't go with a performance clutch because I don't plan to add more power and didn't want to deal with the additional cost, lack of warranty and potential drivability issues.
I have a 2003 SRT4 and recently replaced my clutch with a SPEC SD-842 Stage II clutch. I am experiencing a strange grinding/vibration when I push the clutch all the way to the floor. It sounds like a mini-jackhammer, or a fan when something is stuck int it.
I can feel the vibration coming from the pedal. There is no grinding or vibration coming from the gearbox, and the gears shift smoothly.
My mechanic, who installed it, was unable to detect the problem and questioned as to whether the new unit is a direct replacement for the stock clutch. He did notice that the fingers on the pressure plate were pitched slightly higher than the stock clutch. I contacted the outfit from which I purchased the clutch, JSC Speed, and they assured me it was correct for my car.
The car seems to shift okay and I can avoid this grinding as long as I dont go all the way to the floor with the clutch pedal. The car is stock otherewise. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.
i have the same problem...........
someone tell me that i have to adjust de cltuch pedal but my question is.....
why does the car vibrate only when has be driven by more than 20 minutes???
is the pedal adjusment the right way to fix that problem???
sorry to post whore , however are our clutches adjustable , from a roll i'm good but from a dig i slip like a honeymoon pussy after i hit 2nd. any help would be great .

I put a centerforce kit in my car, and it is doing the same thing. It doesnt do it if I dont push the pedal in all the way, and it doesnt do it within a certain rpm range. It does it the worst above 5k rpms, and if I am shifting real slow. Sometimes it does it when I crank the car. It almost sounds like something is getting into the pressure plate or something. It is driving me nuts. It has been doing it since I had it put in. Been trying to decide whether I am gonna have pull the damn thing and send it back. Any ideas?
I have installed a mopar stage 3 clutch with throw out bearing. The car will not go into gear unless the car was off. I did some research here and ordered new fork, clips, ball clip.Took the tranny out inspected fork...worn out.Inspected clutch assembly ok.made sure cables were not crossed. Reinstalled clutch, bled system. The car will not go into gear. Used a lift put it up in the air the car will go into all gears, put the vehicle down hard to get the vehicle into first and second gear, and reverse. 90% of the time I have to turn off the vehicle in order to put it in reverse. If I turn off the vehicle it goes into all gears smoothly.when the car is on and I finally put in first it idles rough.I was wondering if I can get some imput. This never happened with the stock clutch.I did also replace the slave cylinder

please someone help US! I am having the exact same problem right now. I mean I couldn't have wrote it any better. What is going on? I am totally stumped having this problem and am ready to just set this thing on fire! I just had a new motor and ported turbo installed and now this... I can't even have fun with my new stuff! Rev matching gears I am sometimes even slower than Semi-trucks trying to get going.
I just fixed my problem, re adjusted the clutch pedal now the gears are going in smooth. it's been a week n a half and all is good.I guess the pedal was not pushing the fork enough to make the clutch disengage.
damn man im having the same mofo shiat... installed new clutch, tob, welded up fork(was lil worned), bleeded(pressing clutch 1000Xs right?) n is still hard for reverse.... n 1st somewhat.
even with all this, i thought u wouldnt need to adjust pedal... should i try that?????

so you had to adjust pedal even with a new clutch????
ok this is what I did, new stage 3 mopar clutch, new tob,new slave cylinder, bled system, and made sure cables were not crossed,re filled transmission with fluid because all of the fluid that was lost when removing axles, adjusted clutch pedal, put it up in air first n shifted through all gears, put it down on floor n bingo. I think by putting that welded fork might b the problem. I think if your master cylinder was messed up when you would step on the clutch the pedal should feel weird or spongy. When I was having problems with the clutch at first, the pedal felt really loose, as soon as I adjusted it it felt back to normal again.
