So, suppose I wanted a shop (or Turbofrog lol) to install a new clutch, what parts should I order to do so? Depending on the price, I may go with a stock or MP clutch.
So far:
New flexplate/clutch bolts
T/O bearing
Clutch

well i dont have a card reader, but there are some pics on the forum with the tob. My car has a clunk coming from the clutch when i shift, Hard to get in first and reverse, ESPECIALLY when hot, just like mentioned above. I got a new clutch going in in the am, crossing my fingers for the same results. My clutch started engaging lower and lower on the pedal too, pretty much at the floor now, sounds like a sign of a clutch/pressure plate issue.
Edit- my buddy is doing my clutch for me while i do somethings for work, and he said "a big metal thing fell off the backside of yoru clutch, and looks like it has been out of place" Could be a common problem?

Sure enough my car shifts PERFECT now, hot or cold, the clutch engages up top like stock (i have to get used to this) there is a substantial amount of chatter with my ACT street disk, but its getting less and less (clutch has been in 60 miles of city driving) I love it so far.
i was told synchros might be my problem. so i just wanna make sure, my prob is that from 1st to 2nd is hard like a mofo, car doesnt let me shift fast n it gets even harder after being on stop n go traffic.
Clutch or release system. I'm having the same issue. Check the adjustment noted above and you should be able to get some more miles from it.
Before I buy a new clutch, I'm going to have the release system checked out. If it's just the release than it would be a lot cheaper than dropping $500-1K on a clutch and install.
but nothing to do with synchros or wut? damn i hope is just at least the clutch... but i was thinking if its the clutch itll do it in all gears wont it? idk

How hard is it to get back into first/reverse?
its only real hard when ive been through stop n go stop n go traffic n kinda going hard at it.
but from 1st to 2nd is where is HARD when shiftin at 6000rpms. it just needs to take its time which makes me slow.
Where does the clutch start to engage? If its like 1/2" from the floor and your pedal rests as far up as you can go when your foot isnt on it, then it sounds like my problem. I had plenty of clutch life left but the pressure plate was going out or something. Replaced the clutch and the car has been running great since.
2nd gear up will usually sync fine as long as you're in motion. 1st gear is usually tough because it gets all of the abuse when the clutch isn't disengaging, so the syncro isn't as effective anymore. I believe reverse is synched with 1st, but it also has a brake on it to stop the the input shaft when you shift into reverse so the car doesn't lurch or clunk. If the clutch isn't disengaging, you're stopping the shaft with the shifter while power is still being transferred from the engine. Not easy.
Don't force it, though. If you break a shift fork or plastic part, you're in much worse shape than just a bad clutch. If you have to, stop the engine and then shift into 1st/reverse and then start it back up. If you know you won't be able to get into 1st again when you stop, try shifting into 1st when downshifting and then just hold the clutch in until you can limp it home.
