i recently noticed,,,, my buddy wanted to hear my exaust so i rev'd while it was in 1st gear and clutch pushed all the way.. at high rpm car moved forward like it wanted to go... so i put it in reverse and rev'd then car moved back wards a bit. it isnt normal is it??
what can i do to fix this?
when my first transmission went out on me, the same thing was happening. basically what occured was the gears became permanently engaged somewhat by shattered synchros and pieces of said synchros being stuck together. i am not saying this is what happened to yours, but it is what happened to mine. i bought a whole new trans from pwerks and couldnt have been happier!
also when this happen i can smell my clutch burns a bit. ive never noticed it since i dont rev my car up...but my buddy wanted to hear my exaust and thats when i happened to rev while it was in gear.... im thinkin some how the pedal is misadjusted? since i've replaced my stock pivot arm with LCR. i might have done something wrong`? i hasnt been an major noticable issue to me since my gears seem to shift w/o any issues and it grabs perfectly fine... but i know this problem isnt normal..lol sigh
Same thing happen to my stock clutch at around 75-80,000 miles wouldn't disengage all the way. When you replace it make sure to replace shift fork, pivot ball and release bearing. Try adjusting the pedal out first you might get some more life out of it.
I would adjust the pedal and shifter. If the problem gets worse or persists. I would say your clutch fork is worn down. The OE forks are now know for this.
I have this issue and have had it several times. I'm hopefully going to get rid of it with a DCR Clutch pivot fork because this happened to my car at 20k miles, again at 65k miles, and now at 100k miles. The dealership always thought it was a badk clutch but all my clutches have always still had half a life left.
The shitty OEM clutch pivot only last 20-35k miles with my stop and go driving.
it's your clutch release fork (TOB fork) that's worn and not disengaging the clutch fully.
for now you can adjust the pedal on your LCR pivot. (i have the same one and it's an allen key bolt). loosen that bolt and pull the pedal towards you and tighten the bolt down as the same time.
for stock pivots, it's an 8mm bolt, same procedure. takes 2 minutes so go try it out, people!
Im almost having same problems i just bought the car last night and i can put it in first and engage the clutch and it will randomly hook up and pull but then stops and just acts like its in neutral then will catch again... im really concerned about this because i would love to get this car on the road for the first time... and i noticed that when i put it in neutral and let off the clutch it acts like it almost wants to move... so i think i have came down to a very unfortunate conclusion of a input shaft?????? I have only did one night of research on this so PLEASE ANYONE OR EVERYONE GIVE ME AS MANY TRICKS AND TIPS AS YOU CAN PLEASE... and where would you recommend getting a cheap input shaft? because the car is bone stock on 14psi so i dont need a crazy strong one... appreciate any help thanks guys!!!
