Default Clutch Fork & TOB question

I am changing my clutch and have the trans out right now. I have read a lot about fork failures. Here is mine, it looks perfect. Am I missing anything? Has 55K miles on it. $125 is a lot of cash to waste if I don't need to.

Also my TOB also looks fine and spins freely is it a mandatory replacement?

Thanks.

The pic quality is terrible. Can you get better ones?

At 55K I can almost guarantee you that it is bad. I know, it sucks but it's a shitty design that Dodge came up with. From the looks of the pic, the upper seating area (in the pic) where the TOB contacts the fork looks worn all the way down.

If anything, take the old one down to the dealer and compare to a new one. You'll see right off the bat how worn your old one really is.

I can't tell if the two parts where the tob touches are worn or machined to be that way.

Anyone have a pic of a new one?

Thanks

I agree... that fork is going to cause problems really soon. Get another one right away you'll thank yourself for saving a whole heap of time and aggravation.

You need a new Fork.

When you get the new Fork compare the shinny area and you will see the wear on yours. I just went thru this myself and also thought my fork was good, car only has 5,000 miles, but when I compared to the new fork, mine was worn down.

is the pt-performance cyro treated stock fork for 199$ worth the time/money or is there a better alternate?

i dont know much about ptp's but it should be better than the stock fork, if not use a brand new oem one and call it a day ! eventually the fork will have to be replaced again but not for another 50k or so.

First pic, lighter white area(s), that section is a pair of "Humps" and they look pretty worn down, replace that piece, don't even think of using that same part in your tranny again!

Did you see the thread about the HTOB? Other than that I don't know of any other options. the PT-P cryo fork was the cheapest I could find but its debatable whether it increases the lifespan much.
