Clutch engages when pedal almost an inch off the floor

Guys i'm tight on time here and posting this for my buddy, dont have time to research right now so thanks a lot for taking the time to reply.

The clutch engages very close to the floor and slips at times. I'm fimiliar with the hydrualic clutch systems in my ss but unsure if there is a common problem with these cars.. Slave cl master cl, out of alignment somehow? or T.o.b.. are my thoughts... Its doesnt slip under power.. only sometimes when dumping the clutch .. which i woudl think it fluid needs to be replaced or worn out parts. I'm unsure. thanks for the help

You can adjust the pedal height a bit under the dash. But as for the slipping and why it changed I wouldn't know why.
