Default Clunk when letting Clutch out.

Whenever I release the clutch I can feel a thud\clunk in the drivetrain as the clutch grabs.

I have inspected the Motor Mounts and they are fine and torqued to spec. The clunking only occurs when I first release the clutch going into a new gear. It does not occur when I try and buck the car by getting on it and off it.

The clutch appears to be in ok shape as it engages low when releasing the clutch.

A Google search of the site has come up with a lot threads but nothing that sounds like my issue completely.

Anyone have a similar issue?

Ummm , My my reverse did that for a couple weeks before my 1st tranny locked up . I also had crunchy 3rd that also would kick out sometimes .
I hope your issue is not related , but your thud/clunk description fits .

Could be axles.... when you are on the highway and you let off the gas and then put it back on.... do you get another clutch? Like a loose drivetrain?

Are your inspection cover bolts all in? Reason why I am asking is that one of mine was left loose after a clutch job and worked its way out. The inspection cover was hitting the bell housing when the clutch was let out.

Im actually having the same problem, but I figured it out. there is a mount in the frame that the engine is connected to, you have to remove the passenger side wheel and you will find a re-sessed hex bolt very large that is under the gromet, that bolt holds the motor to the frame and i had to loosen both motor mounts and that bolt to lower the motor down far enough to see the problem. Also have to take off the thick metal cover plate that to drop down far enough. But thats what my problem was. Its a very nice clunk/thud noise, when it goes bad. hope it helps.

Sorry for the confusion guys, I replaced the bushing in the frame. Passengers side you cannot see it visually. Like i said you have to basically drop that side of the motor down to see it. So that is what I replaced and solved my problem. Hope this is a little more clear.

Unfortunantely not, I swiped it off an 04'! Its the one that was the donor for the motor and trans for my 03'. Also I had a hard time describing the part I needed to the parts guys at dodge first, they were retared and had no clue! So sorry about that one. I will look around and talk to a source and let you guys know unless you happen to find it first! the race is on!
