theres nothing wrong with the mod clutch unless your making lots of hp, its fine for stage 3
Never said there was anything wrong with it. But if you can buy a clutch for cheaper and it works great with a lighter flywheel, why not do it? Lighter rotating assembly is FTW!!
I got the ACT streetdisc. So far I like it. It's holding great on the stage 3 delta. Feels pretty close to stock. Just the clutch peddle is a little more firm. You should be ok with one of these. Seeing how you don't plan on using slicks.

So your saying if your going to use slicks dont use this disc?? Im going with a Delta 44lb kit w/ supporting mods. and was looking at the clutch & disc your using?? 99% of the time Ill be on street but I know a friend with slicks so I might do a few run with slicks. Clutch wont hold or ill be fine with this??Did yours come with a TOB also??

Comes with the TOB... It's a complete kit part number DN4HDSS and that's Street disc with the flywheel. I have the same setup. I don't see why you can't run slicks with the setup. Just break it in correctly and make sure your torque output doesn't exceed what it's rated for (470 tq). A street disc setup will last longer then a 6 puck will. The 6 pucks eat through the flywheels and the pressure plates quickly.
I dont recommend the standard stage 3 non-modular.
I recommend the Race Series stage 3 non-modular. MUCH better pressure plate and steel flywheel. The weight is about the same as a modular unit.
The pressure plate used in the Stage 3RS is not the same pressure plate used by ACT or CM.
I would honestly stay away from modular clutches unless you dont do a lot of racing. They will hold the power, but its the crappy stock flywheel and flexplate that you have to worry about

(To the OP; ACT doesn't sell an aluminum flywheel)
Dirk (at ACT) is real proud of the fact that his new 11 pound SRT-4 flywheels won't fracture with heat. It's made from high carbon steel, not cast iron like some others. I'm using their street clutch and love the feel.
I machined almost another 2 pounds of weight just inboard of the starter gear. Yes, it was rebalanced at ACT after machining.
So you think the street clutch will be enough for my power goals? Or should i just go with there 6 puck? Im not to sure what the big difference is between the two? Im leaning towards the ACT because it is much more affordable, and i dont plan on beating the shit out of it so i think it should be sufficient.
I'm like you, this is my daily driver so, no slicks or wild slipping of the clutch. It would even be fine in a freeway traffic jam. But, no problem leaving rubber all over the road when wanted.
My mods roughly, big valve ported head, ported stg3 turbo/manifold/intake mani./ 2.0 cams/gears, all air flow restrictions removed, TB/ 3"O2/ Thermal with cat, ACT clutch etc.
i have seen alot of locals go tho the CM S4 like crazy. i just put the one that was in my ACR (stock ported turbo) and it was gone in less than 10k. i have the PTP/SBC Stage 3 with flywheel on my 04 S3 car, GREAT CLUTCH. i have never used the ACT yet, but hear good things about it.
#1 SBC Stage 3
#2 ACT setup
#3 CM S4
i picked up another SRT last month. the clutch went out. it was the CM S4. it fell apart....................
car has Stage 2 with toys, intake, exhaust, ITM/TB, FMIC, ported stock turbo and a SAFC
only 10k on the clutch/flywheel
-1 for CM
