Default Photoshop help...

So i just got CS3 and naturally i dont know shit. All i have done so far is zoom, crop, and canvas sizing for the outline.

Heres 2 of my shots.

1) How can i make the better without looking to photo shoped? Subtle changes that will make a difference.

2) How do i add my name in the corner, like a logo thats transparent. I assuming make a new layer>text...and then what?

every layer you add, you can adjust how visible it is wit a little bar.. from 0-100%

just select the layer on the right botom, and just above it it say's something like "opacity" or "fill" (don't know exactly cause I use a dutch version)

and on making pic's better looking... I often use "adjust colors/contrast" in photoshop (real easy)

you can pump up those color's even in the winter. the grass looks green again

here is a printscreen were you can get to these:
(Arrow)

and with the circel around it... that's were you can adjust theopacity

If you wanna learn certain thing... just look up at youtube there are 100+ how to's on there

good luck and have fun!

as far as blending your text in you can do what dutch said and adjust the opacity or fill percentage circled in his screenshot. Or you can change the blending style which is just to the left of opacity and always starts with "Normal".

As far as slightly adjusting images another thing you can do is auto levels, auto contrast, auto color found in Image>Adjustments.
