Default FX300 slipping after 6 months

Hello Clutch Masters,

I have reason to believe that my clutch is slipping after 6 months of life in my car. I have followed all the guide lines on break in procedure. I was wondering if this problem can be warrantied by you guys. The only thing that I think could be the problem is the springs.

Your earliest response would be most appreciated..

Thank you,

David

David,

We would be more than happy to take a look at it for you. If we can determine that the clutch started slipping because of defective components within the clutch, we can warranty it for you. Please give our main shop a call at (909) 877-6800 to arrange a return with one of our techs.

I just called them and told them my situation. They told me it might just be an adjustment issue. Is there a proper way to adjust it meaning in towards the firewall or out?

Well if the clutch is not engaging all the way, which would cause it to slip, then you would want to adjust the pushrod on the masters cylinder out. I belive you can get to the pushrod from under the dash, remove any pins or nuts from the rod so it is free to twist. Then just grab on to it and twist it out so you get more travel on the pedal. If you think you may have heated the clutch up a lot, you might want to run it through another short break-in period once you get it properly adjusted.

I just stubbled upon a howto thread on the forum. I was wondering if this is the proper way to adjust the pedal?

I did not read the whole thing, but from looking at the first post, this is the proper way to adjust the pedal. You just need to adjust yours in the opposite direction so you get more travel and higher pedal.

I will talk to our techs asap to see if they have any other ideas, but most likely they will want to inspect the clutch first hand to see if something is out of balance or out of whack with the clutch kit.
