Default fx-400

ive got a fx-400 that has chattered while in neutral with the clutch pedal not pressed, since it was installed. i hoped it would go away, but it never did. it also has a chatter when letting the clutch out, making it annoying to drive. i kinda hoped it would go away, and then i tried ignoring it, but its driving me crazy. is there anything i can do or do i need to replace it?

It is normal for some extra noise with a race type of clutch, the noise at idle may just be the gear rattle that has always been there but is now transfered through the clutch even more because a performance clutch does not have plastic dampers to keep the noise levels down. If the noise is louder than you think it should be then check all of you mounts and/or flywheel bolts. Check this thread also..
Interesting find with loud clutch chatter

If you want to send it in, we would be happy to inspect it for you. Just let me know.

i recently purchased the fx 400 and i was wondering if you could advise on which disc to use, the 6 or 4 puck. it is my daily driver but i will be upgrading to a big turbo soon and it was necessary. will the clutch and flywheel combo help out much at the track? some people say it won't make that much of a difference.

it only chatters when the car is in neutral with the clutch out, other then that its quiet. but it does sound like the car has a bad valve tap when it is chattering

i did check the alignment and it seems fine.

the chatter isnt that loud, if the windows are up you cant hear it much. mine is just annoying because the car shakes when you start from a stop.

other than people trying to tell me i spun a bearing or lost a lifter of something when its idling in neutral....

The 6-puck will be slightly less aggressive and is great for daily driving and will still hold your power at the track. It will help out at the track because the clutch will not slip and the aluminum flywheel will allow you to rev much quicker.

i have a loud tapping sound, but that is cause my pcv is gone, and i have yet to replace it....if the power is still there, then its not the motor, it is something else, where is the sound at....i would look around for other items....
