Is there anything I should look for? Would a non-modular clutch be a better bet for less problems down the road? Should I worry about the center piece coming off and causing excess noise as I add more hp? Any insight would be appreciated.
You do not have to worry about the centering peice as we have been welding them on the steel flywheels scince about 2-3 months ago, and if you have the aluminum flywheel the centering peice is part of the flywheel it's self. As far as modular vs. non-modular, as long as you are not making more than 400-500 ft/lbs tq. you will be fine with the modular design. The main reason that we have done away with the older modular design is to eliminate the weak point, (stock flex plate), mainly because the high HP cars would warp the flex plate causing shifting issues.
So if you think you may be adding a lot of HP in the future it might be wise to go with a stage 4 in the new non-modular design, but if not I would stick with the stage 3 that you have.
