Default Clutch Problem Please Help Me Out Clutch Masters!

Okay here I go. I purchased the CM Stage 4 Six Puck/Fidanza combo about 6 months ago. I had it installed by Dodge and have never had a single issue. Up to today it has been the one of the best CM clutches I have ever owned for my neon's. Not the quietest but the pedal feel was amazing and the thing could hold like nobody's business. But two days ago I was headed home. I parked the car in ran in to pick-up some dinner for my trip home. When I got back in the car I could not get the clutch to disengage at all. The pedal felt fine and there was no noises or alarming concerns. I had to have the car towed to a mechanic. So I thought it was maybe the TOB or fork that wore down or failed. But I went in to the shop today and was informed that it was the clutch. The mechanic told me my clutch failed. He showed me that on the clutch disc where one of the springs mounted there was a small piece of metal that held the spring onto the disc. Well this piece of metal broke off and ripped out the springs and chewed up must of the clutch disc and alum flywheel. This is the 5th CM clutch I have owned in my neons and I have never had a single issue with any of them. I'm a loyal and repeat customer and all I ask is if the clutch disc or clutch is determined by you to be faulty that you will stand by you product and replace it. Please help me out!

Had a local here in SLC, UT that had the CM S4 with aluminum flywheel non-modular clutch setup in his car. Thing gripped great, and felt good as well. But just recently the entire center of the aluminum flywheel completely broke apart. Bolts were still in the crankshaft, but all around the bolts, the flywheel just fell apart. CM didn't do anything to help him out. He ended up going with a competitor's non-modular clutch.

I would think the would help you out, especially if the the clutch failed. and did not wear out, unless they cant hold up to horsepower. if at the very least send them the parts and let them examine them so that they can determine what caused the failure. there are alot of things they can claim caused the failure. and their poll seems to set up the precedence fidanza cm combo. next they will void any liability when paired with the fidanza flywheel, I have a spec fidanza combo and so do alot of my friends with not a single problem i suggest you switch products. cm is starting to get a bad rep locally.

good luck!

I wrote to Modern Performance since they sell more CM set-ups then anyone else to see if they have had any issues. I highly doubt they would admit to it though. But yes you can see where this is going. I personally called CM when I was looking at purchasing a clutch and told them everything I had done and what I had for the future as well as the exact HP and they sold me the Stage 3 six puck w/ alum Findanza flywheel. I have spent big $ on my SRT and my first gen neon and have done countless hours of research on every product. To have one fail and have to spend thousands of dollars to fix someone else's mistake or a faulty part is not right. If you sell a product back it! If the Findanza flywheel is the issue and CM paired there products together and sold them then they should replace any and all products that fail regardless.

Sorry for the delayed response Nittro. A lot of times the forums do not email me when a new post is posted and I do not check on them every day. Anyways, if you can send the entire kit to our shop I will have our techs examine the failure and rebuild the failed components.

Please ship to:

Clutch Masters
Attn: Luis
267 E. Valley Blvd.
Rialto, CA 92376

Include RGA# 100707-SRT

Send me a quick pm when you ship it out and include the RGA# in the pm.

Thank you!
