seems as though it's a "mechanical" gauge so to say ... it appears as though you have to run a nylon line to the back of the gauge, which I don't seem to fond of since I'll be running this in the cabin
I'm hoping there's a water pressure gauge that uses a sender
What I'm going to try is using an OEM 130 psi GM fuel pressure sender I got from Aeroforce. The sender will send his signal to my Aeroforce gauge. Still haven't tried it because my setup isn't complete, but I'm pretty sure it will work. There's probably someone in here that did the same thing and could confirm.
I was thinking the same thing ... I, too, have an aeroforce gauge
only thing is, my water pump is 150psi so I'd need a gauge that'll read up to 150 (atleast) ... I'll have to look around & see what I find
report back & let me know if that works out fine for you ... although, I don't see why it wouldn't
Mine is a 150 psi pump too, but you must subtract the pressure required to open the checkvalve (something like 20psi if I remember right). Therefore, I don't think you would ever see a max of 150 psi. Considering this, if my gauge stays at 130 psi, I'll know that my pressure is okay.

This comes with a sender, its an electronic gauge, not mechanical. The sensor gets mounted in the engine bay.
I've been running a mechanical gauge for 3 years now with no issues. I didn't like the idea of having a nylon line running in cabin either. But if you use the correct fittings (look like little flared trumpet peices) it won't break. At least all will be good untill the nylon degrades. I keep and eye on my line and its still in good shape.
I want to make it clear that our water pressure gauge comes with a seperate sender, the sender is mounted in the engine bay, the wires go from the sender to the gauge. There is no hose going to the gauge itself.
Whats the purpose of having a water pressure gauge?
Pressure gauge is a good indicator of how much resistance to flow your system has. On a 150 PSI system for example 25 PSI would indicate a hole, and 150 would indicate a blockage.
A flow meter is a nice tool aswell. This is a great indicator of exactly how much fluid is moving. remember Pressure is a mesurment of fluid that is NOT moving. Say on that pressure reading of 25 PSI you showed 0 GPH flow. This would be a good indicator that your cut out is set too low or your pump is having issues. Where as 25 and 30 would indicate a hole.
What would be nice is a combo-gauge that had both Flow and Pressure. That would be a real nice tuning tool. Especially with these newer WI systems that the parameters can be changed on the fly with software settings, or turning a knob.
David. Can you get the senders for the Pressure gauges?
The sender for those gauges read on OHMS, not much use other than with that gauge. We have a transducer that can do 150 PSI and give a 0-5V output. It needs a dedicated 5V power supply (such as on the Smart Injection controller).
