Default Think my pump is jacked up

Meth is working, but not real good, Noticed getting some kr on upper side of rpms. Decided to go to 100% duty today ona M10 nozzle, And noticed my pump never came on (always would pulse and make my led flash) So decided to just put 12v to the red line, and the pump would kinda click once like it was gonna start to prime, but than nothing. SOO guessing its even corroded from running strait meth all the time or just old age. Had the kit for almost a year. running it everyday. Maybe time for a 250 pump ?

Gonna take it apart and see if i can clean it out, maybe dirt, corrosion, idk, I remember seeing some related threads, and guys taking there pumps apart cleaning them and than working great. Maybe someone can chime in?

O yea nozzle and check valve is a check

Interesting your getting pulsing with the M10, I would be suprised because it should not pulse with an injector that big. It typically does not build enough pressure to hit the shut-off point.

It should be simple to spray it and see how the mist looks. You can ground the pump with the key turned to see what it looks like.

Ok sooo pump works fine, actually everything works fine. I took it back out with M10 nozzle on 100% duty and pump still did not pulse. The pulsing is when the pump has reached its max 150psi and the psi switch turns the pump on and off to keep a stable 150 psi. Put my M5 back in and pump INSTANTLY started pulsing. Soo my dumb ass realizes that the 150 psi pump is not enough psi to keep the pump at a stable 150 psi. The M10 is to large of a nozzle. And most likley i would benefit from 250 pump. So im guessing im not even spraying at 150 psi, most likley 120-140 range, Pump never reaches its pulse point (150psi) with the M10. Guess i need a stronger pump. I guess theres no way we can turn the 150 psi pumps to pump more?

Yep your right dave, i did not really think about, i just spent 2 hours thinking my pump was not even working lol. I feel like such a noob. So really i should look at getting a 250 pump? cause from about 70% duty to 100% theres not much different in AFRS. Im guessing im maxing the pump out around 70% duty on a m10. Which means i cant even max a M10 out. Again there a way to make a 150 pump stronger?

I have the Vari controller. How come the pump does not pulse at lower duty cycles? like a M10 at 50%? I should be reaching 150psi at onlt 50% duty. But it does not pulse? As soon as i turn the duty cycle down to 90% on a M5 no pulse, It ONLY will pulse at 100% duty on M5? Does the vari controller not allow the pump to reach 150 psi on lower duty cycles?

You mis-understand how the tuning button works. The tuning button lowers the max dutycycle by 7.5 % each time you lower it. Lowering the dutycycle also lowers the max pressure. We dont recommend on the 150 psi pump to go less than 7. If you have to go less than 7 you need a smaller nozzle.

So each time you lower the dutycycle you lower the pressure as well.

thats the way that pump is. What matters is that you get enough flow. You cant increase the max output.

A M10 will not run 200 PSI on that pump. Sorry. I cant tell you to move to a 250, I think you should weigh the pro-cons of it and make a decision.
