anyone switched from quick connect fittings to stainless braided lines and fittings on their direct port systems?

Teflon hose with stainless braiding is the best hose you can get, period. Its difficult to work with, expensive but will last forever.

We dont do as much as we used do because of the high cost. Its not really the hose thats expensive its the fittings. With a direct port you need something like 15 or 16 fittings and they are very expensive.

your best bet is to go to your local hose store and get hose made for you. They can crimp a perminent fitting for you which is alot less expensive than the stainless steel removable compression fittings.

Here is a source to view some hose.

Aeroquip Stainless Braided Hose, Hose Ends and Adapter Fittings

Not the most user friendly but the source.

Eaton Product Literature Library > Fluid Conveyance > Hydraulic Hose

Most cities will have an aeroquip shop where you can walk in and get hose cut for you.

McMaster car has hose pretty in-expensive. Its again the fittings you will pay out the ass for.

McMaster-Carr

-4 is the size you want.
