Stealth, this how the internet shines as a tool to share info, pretty cool that all you need is one person to share something positive someplace for it to have a trickle down effect elsewhere. I gather you do some plastic welding?

In short I work on a lot of dielectric protected equipment in my job. Areil Lifts, Bucket trucks and such. As one of the Cert welder in the shop They sent a old fool (me) to school in RI to learn the technology. And purchace some equipment (supervisor sponsored shopping spree) 1/4 and up I can weld together real well. 3/16 will hold water but it ain't prerty. 1/8 and below I still turn to melt goo....
Cool, I worked with a basic plastic welder for fixing automotive bumper covers back in the late 80's and although my work wasn't pretty before filling and sanding it did save a bunch of money when only a simple tear needed to be handled. Anyway I was thinking about getting a plastic welder setup for making a custom W/A tank for my car and even though theres some info online I still can not get an idea what brand or type of welder would work for simple non production line work yet not have backyard knuckle head hack results....any idea's
Jack it's kinda like welding metal, or drawing pictures. for the guy or gal that has the nack for it the more they do it the better they get at it. I can stick weld sheet metal together if I had to. Maybe because I do a lot of welding. Not so much with the plastic. I tend to make more of a melty mess with the thin stuff.
Unless putting a home brew kit together I would buy tubing directly from the kit maker. This insures that the line is going to work with the fittings that they (kit maker) use as well as to make sure that the line is of the correct quality and burst rating for the recommended injectent and line pressure.
Just got my tank from them.. Nice tank but I forgot to buy a cap.. LOL.. So if you get one from them then don't forget the cap. I had to goto home depot and get a gas cap from a ridding lawnmower and it fit..
